I believe that there is only one country in the world where gay marriage is legal. Why is Bush the only evil guy on this issue?(and in the last debate BOTH of the candidates said that they were opposed to making it legal), why does Bush get such a bashing for it. It's illegal in the UK, Germany, France, Russia, China, etc, etc, etc.... Why aren't you calling all those goverments repressive?

church and state are supposed to be separate and church is the only thing that could really say it wrong. not letting queers get married is like saying inter racial couples cant get married

There should be legal domestic partnerships available to same-sex couples with all of the rights and benefits of marriage. Disolving the partnership would work the same as a divorce.

Beyond that, have whatever ceremony you want, call it what you want. If the state recognizes your rights as partners you don't have to hear them say "married"

Im in toronto ontario - so far the sky hasnt fallen, kids are still safe on the street and in boy scouts / hockey games - none of my friends who were straight were suddenly biten and turned gay.. actually nothing has changed in anyones day to day life

there is more revenue in gay marriages for the provinces, and every now and then its good to see love in a refreshing way... reminds you to appreciate what you have.

Right, but the laws concerning health care, taxes, family leave and so on are handled by the state. So, even if every religion in the world decided to either ban or allow same-sex marriage, it would mean nothing until the state put it's seal of approval on the act by changing the existing laws.

Fair statement, and I disagreed with Bush on that. I'm a big believer in the 10th amendment. At the same time, I think that it should be up to a vote in each state, not up to a judge that is not elected.

You must admit that it is funny how people were suddenly running around saying that Bush was "Trying to make it illegal", when it always has been illegal, and still is in the vast majority of countries in the world.

the thing that bugs me about the gay marriage issue, is that there is no logical reason why it shouldnt be made legal, made to be just exactly like straight marriage. any argument that you make against gay marriage, is based on personal beliefs, not facts or reason.

but then again, since when do facts, reason & logic play any part in the american system or way of life.

Kids don't get knowingly placed in abusive families and who says gays aren't abusive?

If they adopt a kid I'm sure they'll force the idea that being gay is better on it, like most parents force their own ideas onto their kids.
