i was walking my dog earlier, and some dumb white trash bitch didnt have her dog on its leash and it was in her yard. next thing i know it came running at me and tried attacking my dog, they barely fought eachother because i kicked the dog a bunch of times to keep it back and i held my dog back.

the whole time the dumb bitch was trying to call her dog. she finally came and got it and i left after swearing at her.

is mase the best thing to use when something like this happens? if the dog had been bigger it might not have worked out so easily for me.

thats not the problem, my dog would have fucked this dog up (and tried to) but i didnt want to have to do that. the dog shouldnt get killed because its dumb white trash owner cant keep it on a leash.

I have one of these

The blue parts pretty heavy. My dog was attacked by a larger dog off his leash. The other dog was twice the size of my dog.
I just whacked it in the head with the blue part a few times and it stopped it.

You did the right thing. Yell at the other dog loudly to stop and if all else fails boot the shit out of it. If your dog is deep into a fight as a last resort you may have to let go of the lead to give him a fair chance. They can't defend themselves well when your trying to pull them back. The down side to that is the other owner can say you didnt have the lead when the fight started.

Im glad I have 2 Rotts that square up and let out huge ass barks when another dog approaches. Keeps that sort of bullshit from happening to me.

The problem with the mace suggestions is the fuckin over spray tends to hit your dog as well or blow back in your face. You need to be cautious with that shit.

Yah, but that takes some skills ... most people will hesitate and get bitten. Unless you've had a large dog yourself you're not likely to be able to pull that off.

Pepper spray is nice ... but there are also devices that send out (missing word) *** sounds that will be so uncomfortable for the dogs ears that it'll pull back.

It beats hitting beating the shit out of him cause I mean ... it's a dog, he's just acting by instincts, the owner should get beat not him.

got a 88 pouds German Sheppard myself so I've tried a few times when playing wit him, and believe me, they bite A LOT harder then a rottie or a pitbull.

I dunno about that I have seen rotties with heads the size of large pumpkins and a pitbull has so much muscle in it's neck they could practically have a grip on your arm and you wouldn't be able to release it..I sure as hell wouldn't attempt it

A Rott bites on average at 800 PSI with an additional 20-30 pounds of muscle over a sheppard with a a bit power of 700 PSI. You would not want to try that with a Rott.

Forget the Pitt all together. 2000 PSI bite power would leave you in a world of hurt.

I remember I used to do it as a kid too when I used to ride my bike home from school in middle school these black neighbors living in my neighboorhood basically bringing everyones house value down $200k had these 2 rotties who were always out in their front of their house somewhere in bushes or trees and shit...

anyways, sometimes one of them used to come out and try to attack me, id jump off my bike and wait for that bitch to come, and id grab his snout, and hit him in the head and throw him to the side, and when he came id grab him by the snout and just beat him...

it also used to work on my german shepard whos pretty damn big and attacks to kill when i piss her off

The Pitt doesn't come close to 2000 PSI really ... then again PSI doesn't matter all that much.

A Shepard has a much larger mouth, so even if he doesn't have as much pressure per square inch, he'll be able to grab hold of your entire arm and crush it ... rather then just hanging on to it and chew a bit like a Pitbull would.

Forget about PSI..

Tho pitbulls were made for fighting, they've got gameness like no one else ... they'll bite ya, they will bite crazy hard and they will never let go... so I'd forget about it as well lol

Dogs have different drives. When you play with your dog, they will be in Prey Drive. They bark with a high pitch, bite with only their front teeth, and move slow enough you can grab their mouths. Tail wagging, hair not up on the neck, they're playing.

When a dog is in Deffensive Drive, it barks deeply, lowers its tail and the hair on it's back will stand up. It will move so fast you have no chance of grabbing it's snout. None what so ever. You will lose everytime.

The fact that you would even suggest you could grab the mouth of an Angry Rottweiler or German Sheppard is absurd. You couldn't and nothing you can say will make me think otherwise.

I disagree ... I've seen demonstrations where people have grabbed attacking police dogs just like that and thrown them to the side.

Yes there are deffensive techniques you can use on a dog. Grabbing it by the mouth is not one of them. If a dog has a hold of your hand, then by all means push it down the throat. You won't be able to pull it out. But purposely trying to grab the snout of an angry dog is just stupid.

I had to have one of mine neutered as well because he developed urinary track problems which got pretty serious. I was going to breed him but wasnt about to take a chance with his life.

My other is still intact but I may get him neutered as well. To be honest I see no difference in the fixed male. He is still the dominant dog in the house and hasn't changed in personality at all.

While it was running towards the retriever with an aggressive growl, I was prepared to stick my foot out and hit him square in the head to stun him.

Surprisingly, the fucker leaped over 5 feet to bite my shoulder! Never knew they could jump so high.

No, it doesn't change their personality. It's an old wives tail. Dogs with balls won't grow larger than dogs neutered early either. My sister's a Vet so it's a good source of info.

Neutered dogs have a much lower chance of developing cancer, and obviously can not get testicular cancer.

Female dogs spayed before their first heat are something like 50 times less likely to develop Ovarian cancer.

This is a problem I deal with on a daily basis, and yes....it sucks. I have 2 dogs (both pit bulls) I walk separately 3-4 times per day. And, I live in a town where 90% of residents have dogs and I'd say 25% of dog owners rely on voice command rather than some type of restraint. So some type of confrontation is inevitable.

Over time and due to necessity I have spoken to several dog trainers and been able to deal with these situations pretty successfully.

First, I think it is important to make sure the other dog isn't just coming over to say "hi". The dogs may meet, sniff and go their separate ways. If your dog is aggressive toward others, like one of mine is, this isn't an option obviously. If the other dog seems friendly and mine isn't, I just hold my dogs harness and grip her mouth shut until the other dog sniffs and leaves.

Second, if the other dog is aggressive and there is no fence to hide your dog behind, believe it or not, a good loud yell "stop!" at the other dog often stops them in their tracks and may even turn them around.

Third, if a yell doesn't work and confrontation is inevitable,using mace is not a good idea from what I understand. Dogs have more fragile retinas, and spraying mace can sometimes cause retinal detachment. Taking a shoe off and giving a hard smack in the nose on the other hand, can often do the trick though. Since it is usually the other dog I am worried about getting hurt more so than mine (though of course I don't want my babies to get hurt), I will sometimes just pick my dogs up so that the other dog can't reach them.

But remember, if they start brawling, pulling on your dogs leash while the other is unrestrained puts him/her at a disadvantage. Chances are they will just make some noise and be over it pretty quick. A cut or two will usually be the extent of it.

If it gets nasty, keep your hands and face out of it. Learned that from experience. Just my

While physically possible, the issue is still if you could possibly get ahold of a dog's jaw while it's trying to bite you.

If you could get ahold of both of a dog's front paws and pull them apart like a wish bone, you could technically seperate their rib cage. The trick lies in grabbing a dog that's trying to bite you.

When dogs fight (not play) you get a good idea of how fast they are. I'd have serious doubts about Bruce Lee being fast enough. I know for a fact nobody on GFY is.

I remember I used to do it as a kid too when I used to ride my bike home from school in middle school these black neighbors living in my neighboorhood basically bringing everyones house value down $200k had these 2 rotties who were always out in their front of their house somewhere in bushes or trees and shit... anyways, sometimes one of them used to come out and try to attack me, id jump off my bike and wait for that bitch to come, and id grab his snout, and hit him in the head and throw him to the side, and when he came id grab him by the snout and just beat him... it also used to work on my german shepard whos pretty damn big and attacks to kill when i piss her off

While it was running towards the retriever with an aggressive growl, I was prepared to stick my foot out and hit him square in the head to stun him. Surprisingly, the fucker leaped over 5 feet to bite my shoulder! Never knew they could jump so high.
