There are some things like death or endless way that most humans mind cant understand. Its beyond our fantasy or thinking.
Of course there is a reason.This is good point to start with to look for the reason or meaning of your life.

Someone above mentioned total voidance and I have contemplated the thought, but that is a fantasy that we realize. The concept that is a fact and even more difficult to accept is infinity; time and space. Time always was and always will be. Space even gives me more of a headache. So there is a black whole a trillion light years away...what's on the other side?

Why think about death when you have your life to live? Personally, I've got way too much stuff to worry bout already and when I get over them, I just try to enjoy my life so when I die, I'll be able to say that I have lived my life to the fullest.

Western cultures tend to FEAR death.

Eastern traditions sometimes (not all) see death as part of life. Others extend it to a cycle of rebirth.

I fear death. Not the physical part of it but the lack of control.

I don't know whether I fear it due to the fact I don't know what to expect. Perhaps I fear it because it will leave me feeling incomplete.

Great topic, man. Its good to stop every once in a while and thick about one's mortality and ideas regarding it.

Seriously... Ghosts exist. I'm not going to go through all my stories right now, but I've encountered them, many people I know have encountered them.

I don't hold seances or go around getting the shivers or keep angel statues all over my house, I don't wear a tinfoil hat on my head or read new age books or sit around humming with crystals.

But a couple of times in my life, I have been talked to by people who were no longer alive. I can't prove it to you, but I'm convinced.

I've studied this for 3 decades. My conclusion is the physical body dies. The soul and consciousness continue on in another dimension and vibrational frequency.

I believe interaction can still occur with loved ones who have passed on, though the energy frequencies have to sync for this to happen. This is why so many people are able to connect to the other side in their sleep and dream state when its easier for your consciousness to disconnect from the body temporarily and vibe up to the higher levels.

The soul intuitively knows its level of growth in terms of the Universe and can reincarnate into another physical type life for further soul growth.

I believe angels and guardians are souls that no longer need to incarnate. They've permenantly cross over into the higher levels of intelligence, love, compassion, and understanding. They are then compelled to guide and teach souls in the physical world and bring them up the ladder also.

At the end where you are at the highest level, from everything I've studied, you become part of the center core energy filled with pure love and intelligence of all that was, is, and will be. This is a state of eternal pure light energy.

Some souls don't cross over well. These are the troubled spirits that are often found in the half way there half way here state of being. Eventually they find their way.

You are held accountable by the Universal life forces for everything you do in each lifetime, especially what you do to others. Karma balances all debts and misdeeds done to others. Karma rewards all the positive things you have done in your life and in helping and teaching others.

It is extremely beautiful on the other side. You can get a sense of the magnitude of the Universal energy in this image.

That is a horribly flawed conclusion to draw.

First of all, if, as I suggested, consciousness/personality filters through the brain and needs the brain to function properly, one would expect that brain disease/deterioration would cause changes in one's personality.

Since she is able to retain her personality when using drugs, it should tells you that it hasn't gone anywhere. It's still there, but cannot manifest through her brain without help.

We were not conscious of anything before we were born because we did not exist. That doesn't mean we will lose consciousness when we die. It is a mistake to assume that if we live on after death, we must have also lived before birth.

I think what it really boils down to is people aren't so much afraid of death and what's next...they are afraid of how they will die, and if they die will this thing we call life be it...and nothing more..all those chances to be "something" or "someone" are gone.

I remember being a young adventerous guy and I used to tell people I could die right then knowing I had lived...and I meant it. Death did not bother me.

Then I became complacent in life. Started going after that thing called security and found out it doesn't really exist..there's only so much we can control...and that's when I started having anxiety attacks.

I went through a whole period of my life where all I did was fear dying.

I equated that with death...because I sure as hell wasn't living.

So I started to live again...moved away from my home state again...it rejuvenated some of that zest I had for life.

I've taken upon myself to add some more things to my life recently that spice things up...and I feel like I'm back on that path to not worrying so much about dying due to lack of living.

The only thing I really have concerns about now is how I will die...will it be painful etc. And leaving my nieces without the security they need in their lives.

I believe there is absolutely nothing after death

this "theory" of mine helps me alot in life

why?

since there is NOTHING after death, then life is ALL that I have

therefore I must make every day as happy and special as possible, since it may be my last

I will live my life being nice to people, being respectful, with a smile on my face.

because... LiFE iS Too SHORT to be pissed off!

Very interesting, but I believe when your dead, your dead. That's it, nothing after that. That's why when my time comes I want to know I am dieing so I know its over. I don't want to go in my sleep the thought of that creeps me out.

Now, besides the whole "Being Saved" bullshit, what exactly decides whether you go to hell or not? Do you have to have a certain balance of more bad or more good you've done in your life? Somebody once said you can be a horrible person all your life, kill people, etc, but if you turn good at the last minute before you die, you go to heaven. Any thoughts on this?
