I would suggest any of you that want to get in shape but lack motivation cough up the $ and get a trainer. It's going to be well worth it for me.

I got one already. And feel alot better because of it. However, you have to tell him for the first 3 weeks, his job is suppose to force your ass to get out there and workout, or you just will not do it. He has to call you like a mofo, reminding you to be there. At first I would just forget on purpose LOL, also he has to go to your house with a few garbage bags and clean out your kitchen, and then go with you to the store and show you what to get, this goes on for a few weeks also, so you get in the habit.

If you anywhere in my position, your lower back will hurt like a mother, but it gets better they harder you push on with the workout. No pain, no gain.

Have one..well it is a training gym I have 3 different trainers all with different styles..I Hate it and Love it at the same time.

Nothing worth it is easy or cheap!!! Godd Luck to you!

getting a trainer is like shopping for a car. You better make sure that you do your background checks and personality checks. Finding someone that you are comfortable with makes it alot easier to work with.

I've just started training some of my friends now and it's going well.

Cleaning out your kitchen is the first step to getting in the gym.

Knowing what kinds of food to buy/eat and reading labels makes losing weight a whole lot easier.

half of what they say is bullshit, keep that in mind. but if you lack motivation or don't know much then its better than nothing.

i could of had a free personal trainer when i signed up at the gym, but i laughed when they tried to setup a time. its worthless for me

Make sure your trainer teaches you a lot of the good, basic exercises. If he brings out a swiss ball, go find a new trainer.

The best question to ask a trainer before using him is: "Am I your student or your client?"

Lastly, stop using the trainer (even if he is good!) after 2-3 months because at that time, you should know enough about weightlifting to do it yourself.

I don't think a trainer would do it for me... I'd need either a hot girl with leather and a whip to motivate me or a drill sergeant with a gun to me head.

Aside from those two things its pretty hard to make me run for exercise.
