It's never been a secret that all the money is in recurring. Just most people want money up front and aren't patient enough for the long haul. All the biggest money making submitters that i know, make it all by recurring.

When they have a bad month of signups, or want to leave for a months vacation, they still get paid on there recurring....so the blow doesn't hurt to bad.

I think that the pay-per-signup is great for anyone who doesn't have a stable income to build there recurring. It give's them a chance to save up some money and get by a few months, while they start building there recurring. It's take around 2-3 months to start reaping the rewards from recurring.

I got a friend and when he started in the business he kept odd jobs to pay the bills until all the recurring kicked in. Now he makes a shit load and still submits every other day.

Some other friends i know do half and half. Half recurring submitting, and have pay-per-signup. That way they get the money up front to help out with the bills, but at the same time, slowly build there recurring. Then after a while, they slowly start submitting more recurring, and weed out the pay-per-signup.

Either way, it's smart to include some recurring in your personal business model.

Just my 2cents

yeah but if members only stay 3 months on average for most programs -- then it seems to me that your recurring income will reach a peak eventually... for sure it doesn't grow exponentially as many programs would have you believe when you sign up. sure I guess you'll always have a few lifetime members but how many of those really are there? Just curious... anyway for the most part I'll agree with you... it's just 5:14 am WTF am I thinking..........................

i have read it some months ago, Demonwolfe is very honest and shares his secrets, if you can consider recurring tip as a secret...
Also, he's the master on sending users to sponsors! I'm still trying to find the entrance on his tgp ;-)

I use both PPS and recurring programs, and they both generate revenue at a steady rate. As the Fly observed, there seems to be a peak for recurring programs in most cases, and they tend to stay at that level, provided there's no change in the number of sign-ups.

I'm prone to consider the exponential growth of recurring programs a myth.

I believe the expotential growth to be a myth. 3 months is the the peak.

FIRST MONTH: Trial to Membership
SECOND MONTH: Surfer sees a rebill on his credit card

THIRD and final MONTH: Surfer cancelled his membership after the saw the rebill of the second month.

Sure you are going to get some people who never look at their credit card bills, or enjoy being a member of a site, but it's not going to last for much longer than 3 months.

However, I pushed a celeb program about a year ago...got one signup. I dumped the program because of the poor ratio.

That one signup has recurred for a complete year now. Not bad for one signup

Quite simply - how is IEG making all that money? How is RJB Telcom doing? How about CyberErotica?

They can only afford to pay per signup if members recur... assuming that they aren't spending money on upsells or in sextoy stores, recurring is where the money is at.

I think that Oz from True Cash mentioned that they were spening $25,000 per month on content, even more for bandwidth - or it could have been the other way around, but that's not the point. The point is, they're earning that money, they can afford to spend it. It's not a problem, because there is so much of it... and it's coming in through recurring.

However - be cautious about choosing your sponsors. If they can't recur members, then what is the point?...

Also let me say this. I'm averaging $60 per signup with a certain recurring teen sponsor. How many per signup programs pay $60 per signup? None.

Not sure there is an IEG any more...

Think of the exponential value of recurring like this -- say 1:10 stays for longer than the average -- every month that you have at least ten joins you're picking up some bucks that you otherwise wouldn't have with pay per join.

Personally I think you need to shift your traffic to fit the time of year -- most every site falls short in the summertime of their winter conversions so doing a pay per join all year round doesn't make sense.

The way to do it is to shift your traffic to recurring type programs in say late February, early March so that you can have a steady income (maybe it's a bit smaller per month but that's only because you're taking it in smaller increments) thru the summer and then in mid-August shift back to a majority of pay per joins.

I would have to agree with Exxxotica.

Unless they are complete idiots with their credit card records (ie: allowing it to rebill and forgetting that they ever joined), I would say that more so it proves itself to be that once they see the billing record, (ie: evidence trail, lol),they tend to cancel membership.
Their is $$$ here and we all know it!
Unless of course your only here to fund your addiction. LMAO

~smiles and winks~

Over all I would give it a rating of...
"Thought provoking read."

Ok, I'm back home now. BoneProne go back on you ICQ. How can we keep missing each other like this?

Oh, yeah. Weather or not you agree with the article, you have to admit it's very inspirational.

Its true that there is validity in the power of recurring revenue however, just my words of warning...spend that 1.95 or whatever for a trial membership to your sponsors site before you waste a lot of time promoting it heavily. Some sites just arent what they appear to be once your inside and if you sufers arent going to stay members you're better off with a per join model. just my .002
