It's not incomplete. The 'missing links' are not missing, they don't exist. There is zero evidence that you and I came from apes. People digging around finding bones here and there and coming to the conclusion that they're related is not science. Science is testable and demonstratable. Evolution is a theory and one that doesn't make sense. You and I came from ancestors that were human. Cats were always cats, horses were always horses.

Believing that life began by some big bang of rock and lava, from a single cell, into the variety of life we see today is more if not as absurd as believing an a higher God. Believing in God actually makes more sense. At least there is a beginning. Evolution doesn't explain life, it tries (and fails) to explain how life forms change. Well where did this single cell come from? No answer. At least religion answers this with God.

A scientist once wrote something to affect that, to believe that the breadth of life that we see on Earth came from some chaotic eclipse of random objects and events is so statistically improbable that it brings into question the credibility of scientists that hold such a view. It would be like winning the lottery a thousand times.

I'm an agnostic and I also don't believe Evolution. For some reason, people believe they have to believe one or the other.

It's hip or "progessive" or "enlightened" to believe in Evolution over religion, but neither are satisfactory. Evolution is taught in universities as if it's the gospel. They've simply substitued Evolution for standard religion. I believe neither.

I think mankind has lots of science to unravel. So far thousands of years few religious facts have been yet to be proven.

I'm an agnostic. I simply don't know. I think it's great that people continue to search for answers. I would love to know the answers myself. I don't have a problem with Evolution or Religion per se, I only have a problem when they become dogmatic. Evolution is never stated as a tentative theory. It's always presented as fact. The same goes for religion. It's a belief system, belief being the keyword.

Science is our best bet. It will not answer everything, but it's shown time and time again to be the best tool we have for understanding the world. I agree that a lot more will come from science in the future. I would love to see the day when we're able to live on the moon or mars but I don't think we'll be around then.

I am an atheist. I don't believe there any gods - not one. I come to this belief because of the total lack of evidence, even one tiny shred, of the existance of any god (as well as all the horrible things that religions have done in history and do today, ie Fallwell, Hinn, Arafat and Bin Laden). People have fabricated more evidence for the existance of unicorns, tooth fairies, and leprecauns than there is evidence for the existance of gods. Therefore I conclude that gods, are almost certainly bullshit. That makes me an atheist.

In the old days gods were a way of keeping people in line when the tribal leader was away on business. Today they are a way of making money. Here's a quote, from today's newspaper as a matter of fact, from Benny Hinn, the christian faith healer: "If God speaks, you obey him. If He says, give a hundred, give a hundred. If He says, give a thousand, give a thousand." Hillarious stuff. He said that yesterday to a crowd of 16,000 suckers, uhm, believers, here in Calgary.

The onous is on you god-believers to present evidence for the existance of gods. I don't need to prove that there are no gods to be an atheist, I just have to point out the complete abscence of evidence of any gods, and point out how very strange that is given the almighty, all-powerful, all-knowing and all-seeing nature of these supposedly supreme beings. Very strange and suspicious is the supreme being that leaves no tracks.

One of the big problems with religions like Christianity is that there are so many variations in core areas of doctorine. One of the main purposes of the bible is to stand as a measuring post against which to measure the validity of these varying doctorines. The JWs are considered to be a cult by mainstream Christians, and with good reason.

Millions and millions of dollars in grants every year are poured into research, most of which end up lining the pockets of the scientists. Do you think these grants would come pouring in if the scientists in question had bad reputations? When evidence comes out against Evolution, that makes the scientists look bad, which damages their reputations and reduces the number of grants they get. If the theory were ever disproven, most of these people would be out of a job. They have a personal stake in perpetuating the myth. This, unfortunately, is how science works in this day and age. I know, because I am a member of this community.
