Lawsuits against Pill / Herbal sponsors?
You always hear about pharmaceutical companies getting seued / blamed for HORRIBLE side effects of new drugs, etc ....
Well what about Penis Pill / Herbal companies? Do they have different responsibilities because they are not FDA approved? What if someone dies and their family blames it on your pill?? How about the affiliate who made a cut of the sale? This is something that I've wondered about for a long time. Thanks, -J |

I know most herbal products (especially those sold in the adult market) are relatively safe, and consist of 'time tested' herbs .... but the idea of selling something that is ingested by someone else just makes me sweat. -J |

A bottle of penis pills, of the highest quality, meaning it has a viagra like effect and people will keep buying it, is manufactured at a cost usually >$2. so you get sued, you settle and move onto the next product and repeat. There are legitimate companies out there where their claims are 100% legitimate and do things ethically. back to the penis pill thing. L-arginine, which is a major viagra like stimulate, needs to be at 1000mg+ to be effective, which is technically dangerous. Kong is one of the best formulas, we copied it basically. We do recurring billing and have a retention of 6 months on the average, meaning people are satisfied with the product. There are ingredients that are proven to give users a better sense of well being, a positive mental outlook etc. Trimspa is an excellent example of a reputable product. Their success isn't based on false promises. Their product delivers what is advertised. Making these types of products is costly, an average of 25k just to have one formulated, labels, and minimum po's to satisfy factories. You can pay less for herbs from china and have a product cheaply manufactured to increase margins but the long term success I believe is in not cutting corners. It makes no difference if you're paying 1.50 per unit of low quality, or $3 per unit using the best. basically, have some science, have legit doctors behind your products, and some ethics, and you should be ok. Any time a product reaches mass distribution you will inevitably get sued. There is no shortage of people willing to fuck you. |

Good info, thanks man. I wasnt inquiring into the "does it do what it says" question, as much as the "What are the legal ramifications of selling something that people swallow and could fuck 'em up" question ... but you answered both pretty well. The thing that got me really thinking about this is the fact that "Pill Sponsors" seem to be popping up every day lately ... and wondering if they have the financial means to save their asses if they ever fuck someone over medically. -J |

they are private labeling. Using data given to them by someone else. So, they are acting as marketers and not manufacturers. Real trouble, and Im not talking about someone being pissed that you rebilled their credit card, occurs when you formulate and manufacture the product. You present ceritifacates of analysis that assure you're product is safe. The prescription drug lobby gets very pissed when a product comes along that is equally or more effective than its prescription counterpart. There is def. herbal products that can actually help and even cure ailments. As for financial means, comapnies often file bankruptcy and come back with a new company. Best advice is to pay the extra$ and be legit |

My mom has wasted at least 20k of my dad's money on bogus alternative/herbal garbage, and she just doesn't want to be reasoned with. I can show her study and study to show their ineffectiveness, it just doesn't matter to the poor woman. As far as care, those who deal with herbal products -- all the while making false claims -- should do serious jail time.
I find it ironic that the FDA would not regulate that market while trying to prevent people from buying real meds from the black market. You can waste all the money you want on bogus remedies, but don't you dare buy REAL sleeping pills unless we can regulate it. ![]() |

hahaha oh that's a good belly laugh mate!Trim Spa is being sued right now for their pills not containing Hoodia, the way that they claimed. Supposedly they have fixed that problem now, but the pills still only contain 150 mg of Hoodia and no guarantee that contains the crucial molecule p57, which is what controls the appetite. Basically Trim Spa is shit and is still shit, as are a great number of over the counter herbals in the USA. There is no standardization for phyto medicine in the USA like there is in Europe. In Europe, you could not get away with selling a bum herbal product that doesn't work or only work on placebo effect. But take a stroll in your local health food dispensary here in the US. 90% of what you see on the shelves is shit. Never been tested or standardized, and they don't have to do that because it is classified as a "nutritional supplement" and not "phyto medicine" like in Europe. I use phyto medicines that have been standardized to Eurpoean standards exclusively, and have great results. I use a standardized st. johns wort, brand name "Perika" (imported from Germany) and it REALLY works, for example. 99% of the stuff sold online is crap that you will get no effect from unless it is placebo effect. If it's not standardized and tested, it's bunkum. ![]()
