Following the FLQ?s October 1970 kidnapping of Quebec?s labor and immigration minister, then Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau invoked the War Measures Act to protect other potential FLQ targets and prevent further acts of terror. As for what Canada would do if attacked...well...not many people hate us...but if we were attacked...if I remember correctly...a few people have old military uniforms around here...I heard a rumor we have a rowboat hanging around....and there are a couple pilots that work the forest fires that we could get.

Other than that I don't know how Canada would protect itself...unless of course we took our troups out of:

Afghanistan
Bosnia-Herzegovina
Hati
Golan Heights

Our military always appears low-key because we just aren't in the news as much. I know our airforce pilots rock...there is an International competition every year and we win it a great deal of the time. Granted our force is not as large as some other countries...and we do more U.N. peacekeeping duties than anything else...but we do ok. We are not a super-power...never tried to be.
