Blacklisting Free Hosts

I'm wanting to know which free sites are easily blacklisted. Known cheaters thieves etc.
That might be most of them but can I get some lists. I have currently blacklisted
smutserver.com
lightningfree.com

Can you help me find more of the bigger ones to save myself the trouble of having to review them?

I just clicked on the gallery i submitted to you and what ever trade that came up just about crashed my computer, it tried to download dialers, set my homepage, hell i thought it was going to reach out and cop a feel..... In other words I seen pop up hell!! ps... look around,,,,,you see lightning free everywhere,,,,, If i were you, i'd blacklist some of those damn trades before i think about the free host...shit!!!

Ya, good call mate. Blacklist two of the finest freehosts going, that'll help your site out. (not)

Smutserver has some of the smallest and unobtrusive headers/footers of all, and both hosts are super fast loading, and best of all they're free. Blacklist away, my galleries will just go to tgp's that recognize quality in my designs and content, not blacklisting for everything they can think of.

Why not stick to blacklisting sites for things that are really annoying, like it was mentioned above? --- Redirecting, popup hell, auto-downloading bullshit dialers and auto-bookmark scripts, and that fucking comet-cursor crap. Now THOSE things are good reasons to blacklist sites in my opinion.

I've blacklisted web1000, it's the only freehost I've done this to, only because they added those ultra-annoying "I've got a theecret webthite that's tho hardcore..." fucking bullshit audio ads.

Okay, rant over. Knock yourself out bro, but know this....you are missing out, because those are 2 of the best in my books, and I've been a freehoster for nearly 3 years now.

You know, you come to this board where I'am a relativelly well liked member, and kinda like the in house Free Server. Then you start a thread like this, which is nothing but an easy way to make yourself look like an asshole.

There are numerous threads on this board about Freehosts,you could just go and read some of them, but no, you come on here and shout out my name and my good friend who owns Smutserver. We are 2 of the most well respected Freehosts on the net. If you have a problem with me you could write to me, you don't have to go to a public board and start shit!!!

Now I've always been a bit confussed about the exact laws in Austrailia, but I was under the assumption that porn was illegal in your country??

It's only illegal if it's hosted in Oz, otherwise it's fine. Basically all ISPs here have to make sure there are no sites on their servers.

I agree, though, that the first post definitely implied that those hosts were cheaters/thieves. Even if he later stated it's for "excessive advertising". I thought "excessive advertising" was one thing that made surfers join a paysite anyway...?

You Must be very NEW you blacklist the 2 best free hosts on the net. I look at hunderds of gallerys on these 2 hosts per day and If I see someone cheating they sometimes get there accounts nuked. There are some real good quality webmasters using these host and you will lose out on if you ban these.

Web Reaper, I dont know smutserver, but I've known Lightning for some time now. You fucked up with your post. Have you ever heard the saying "You get more with Honey, then with vinegar"

Lightning is a great guy, he and his staff, are the only Hosts that answer emails, (and fast) and will go out of their way to help webmasters. I've never heard of your site, but I do know that Lightning has been running sites for 6 yrs in this biz and is a fairly knowledgable webmaster.

All free hosts have advertisements, and actually Lightnings and his new Girls Host have some very decent sizes. I have seen MUCH worse ads on most other hosts. Also all his hosts are fast as shit, actually faster then even paid hosts.

I think if I were you I would consider appologizing to him??

I'm sorry if anything was misunderstood about the 2 hosts mention. I know nothing about them except what is submitted to me. I certianly did not wish to imply either were cheaters, it was a generalization only. And I am certianly not the first tgp to refuse free host.

The alternate I consider was restricting those who wanted to use free host to limiting thier own advertsing but it gets messy.

Hot Tropical Babes: Thankyou. I reviewed all trades and found one that was a nightmare and 4 others that used exit consoles. All have been terminated. I am wanting to build something of quality.

Lightning: Sorry you take offense quickly but chill. This was not meant as an attack on you, only a generalization. As for Australian Law, The law in question specifies you cannot host unprotected adult material on an Australian server. (Who on earth would host in Australia anyway). If you really wanted to you could build a paysite/avs site though. General assumptions like yours though have been made by most isp's and they personally refuse all such content.

If you want to take it further though, get in touch and I'll give you my details for you to supply to the authorities.

richard123: You've nailed my eternal question. I would however like to lean on the side of quality versuses excessiveness. This is not to say a gallery with a lot of advertising is poor quality. I have seen many good quality galleries using 10+ sponsors and some atrocious ones using only 1.

Lightning Free as well as it's staff are the best there is out there. It is a freehost commited to quality and good service. It is fast, they answer email quickly, are willing to help in any way they can, are always improving the service...I just have had great experiences with it since I found it and have not stopped since. I consider it the best free host there is. If you don't like freehosts advertizing then just don't accept any galleries hosted in any freehost. But to chose exactly one of the best there is out there to start is a mistake in my opinion.

Its your choice what galleries you take, but you came to his "neck of the woods" (so to speak) and made him look bad to those WHO dont know him. Its time for us Webmasters/mistresses to start pulling together and networking a bit more. I feel you need to clean house in other areas... Like you already have with deleting some of the shitty trades you had. oh, and no,, i didnt get up on the wrong side of the bed, I have ongoing PMS/with psychotic features This was not a good business move, I think you might have stepped on your "thang" here.

I agree with HTB and especially in the case of a new tgp. You don't want to get too full of yourself (too many silly rules)or your site will never grow. Not many paid host webmasters are going to keep subbing to a site with low traffic counts. That wasn't a hint, it was a statement of fact.

my suggestion for you mr. reaper is visit some major tgps and see who they blacklist. you will find few of them blacklist servers, but rather individual sites. don't get me wrong, there are some freehosts that are awful... but not very many. there are a cabillion awful individual sitebastards

I have read that some tgps blacklisted smutserver because in some cases some photos don't load with the 1st. Personally I like them,that's why i host there one of my domains.

Yes, that did happen, but much of that has now been resolved completely, as they have moved 6 or 7 of their servers to a much larger pipe, and they've upgraded their performance to incredible levels. I was having image-loading problems one smut-4, 5 and 7 for a while there during peak hours daily, but now my sites just smoke.

Also, just like mr. Lightning, the server admin for Smuteserver 'Wayne' is also an excellent guy and very very prompt with assistance and tech support. I've always been able to get word to him within a reasonable amount of time. and he's always been helpful.

The only real reason why I host my stuff with Smutserver over lightningfree is because smutserver offers full ftp, which is something I must have for certain sites of mine that are of considerable size. It would take literally forever to have to choose each individual file and upload 10 at a time via a file manager. I plan on making a few smaller sites in future, and for those I'll definitely include LF in my network.

It's been hard to get a new account on smutserver for a while now, but according to the Wayne-meister, that's all about to change as well. They are about to dump some good bucks into new servers shortly, and I for one can't wait.

This last comment is for "The Hun"....if you notice this thread, can you check out smutservers 4 5 6 and 7 and any others that you have/had on your blacklist, and if they measure up to your speed and reilablity requirements, can you un-blacklist them now? I'm quite confident that you'll find them to be very fast loading now.

He helped me out when I was a newbie several times, and continues to help people on this board.

He wants everyone to be successful (which is rare) and all you have to do is ask and he will help. He does not expect anyone to suck his dick.

Sorry to blow up like that but I consider Lightning Jim a good person and a good friend. He is not what people are making him out to be.

BTW - what Lightning was doing was offering to SEND this guy some traffic for free as a peace offering.

Let's get in my 2 cents a minute:

I think a general mistake made by to many TGP's is that they tend to take their surfers by the hand and guard them like some fragile little vegetable.

I think they should realise that once the surfer clicks through to a gallery of us, that becomes our surfer now.

Also I think(could be wrong though ) that surfers have a brain of themselves and can decide what galleries to check out and which ones to leave alone.

I can understand not accepting consoles, back button manipulation etc... but when it comes to advertising, I think they should let the surfer decide and not try to think for them.

But then again if some TGP's would not manipulate the status bar of the browser to hide their trades, surfers could actualy see where they clicked to

Point 2:

People once again I would like to point out that those TGP's in question are ONLY important because WE make em that important. There are plenty of other traffic resources out there. In fact it took me a few weeks longer but now I get more traffic from other sources then I get from TGP's, and gues what those sources are not as picky, and do not have that mightier then you attitude . They convert better too

So for me the bottom line is that submitting to TGP's brings in a nice chunk of traffic, but I get even more from the rest so whenever I find a TGP large or small that does not accept what I want to do, I go fine and just don't submit to that TGP.

I think it's a misconception that we webmasters have to build galleries accourding to the rules of a TGP, I think it is up to us to assemble a list of TGP's that accept the galleries they way we make em on the host we choose. After all it is us that pays for the content, bandwidth to accomodate their surfers, so I think we're entitled to decide what and how!

I honestly believe that if more people would work that way instead of going through the roof whenever they get a bullshit reason why their gallery was declined they would make:

1) More money
2) The part the TGP's play in daily traffic generation significally smaller as it should be.

Web Reaper - No offense buddy, but if you were really serious about blacklisting certain free hosts, I figure you would know more information about what your doing/saying.

Smutserver, Lightning and Stynk are the free hosts that RARELY ever get blacklisted. If they do, it's usually because of personal issues. It's as if your info is completely backwards or something. You need to fire whoever supplied you that info.

And Lightning - how come you let some guy like that get to you? 7K is small potatoes compared to Lightningfree.
