Hey, Hey a discussion after my own heart

Let's get in my 2 cents a minute:

I think a general mistake made by to many TGP's is that they tend to take their surfers by the hand and guard them like some fragile little vegetable.

I think they should realise that once the surfer clicks through to a gallery of us, that becomes our surfer now.

Also I think(could be wrong though

) that surfers have a brain of themselves and can decide what galleries to check out and which ones to leave alone.

I can understand not accepting consoles, back button manipulation etc... but when it comes to advertising, I think they should let the surfer decide and not try to think for them.

But then again if some TGP's would not manipulate the status bar of the browser to hide their trades, surfers could actualy see where they clicked to

Wasn't it something about the pot calling the kettle black?

Point 2:

People once again I would like to point out that those TGP's in question are ONLY important because WE make em that important. There are plenty of other traffic resources out there. In fact it took me a few weeks longer but now I get more traffic from other sources then I get from TGP's, and gues what those sources are not as picky, and do not have that mightier then you attitude

. They convert better too

So for me the bottom line is that submitting to TGP's brings in a nice chunk of traffic, but I get even more from the rest so whenever I find a TGP large or small that does not accept what I want to do, I go fine and just don't submit to that TGP.

I think it's a misconception that we webmasters have to build galleries accourding to the rules of a TGP, I think it is up to us to assemble a list of TGP's that accept the galleries they way we make em on the host we choose. After all it is us that pays for the content, bandwidth to accomodate their surfers, so I think we're entitled to decide what and how!

I honestly believe that if more people would work that way instead of going through the roof whenever they get a bullshit reason why their gallery was declined they would make:

1) More money
2) The part the TGP's play in daily traffic generation significally smaller as it should be.
