45 gigs.

Plenty for now.

Remember when 10 gigs sounded like a ton of drive space?

I remember when 1Gb was plenty of space when I was stuck with my 120Mb HD. I had to delete some windows95 system files because I was running out of space, apparently didnt erase any critical ones and the OS still ran. hehe

I started out on a 386 with less than a gig of drivespace. It was a total dinosaur, but damn I learned a lot with it.

Ended up selling it to a technical school for fifty bucks.

If you have a hard drive cooling unit, you should be fine. With any of the faster 10-15K RPM drives, it's best to have a cooling unit, it'll DEFINATELY add live to your hard drive. I bought a Vantec Vortex and it does a wonderful job -

The only downfall about that model is that you have to manually turn it on with your system, however, it's second nature to turn it on right after I hit the power button.

I use 80 GB Seagate Baraccuda harddrives.

But RAID systems are quite nice for storage information.
