Isn't it a true bitch when a majority of webmasters fall for the hype and then everything turns into a fiasco?

Not bashing APC here, just midly amused about the numerous threads on how excited some are on special promos that they setup for the $75 PPS day, and then how disappointed they came out of it.

Could have been a better start for APC, ey?

Equinox I'm not sure who or how you are basing that statement, but I for 1 did pretty well on opening day and are continuing to do so. Right now my ratio is 1:691 that is not bad at all for the mix of traffic I'm throwing at APC various sites.

APC has a successful program. I do very well them them and they have a wide variety of sites. I convert steadily. That's alot more I can say compared with 90% of the programs I have tested.

it costs $15 per check ( processing and stuff )

then only $210 left + USD -> EURO is about 160 euro - 35/40% to goverment

Actually yes there were many threads on the topic. But most of them all started during the grand opening, and in no way gave the program a chance. You can't expect fantastic results with any program from hit #1. Also after the big day was over, most people did in fact end up with at least some sales and many people also had decent results. Even Battus (the biggest basher of APC from the start) ended up with ok results from the traffic he sent. Also APC launched so fast people didn't really have the time to make high quality ads for it, and most just slammed together some traffic from low quality traffic sources. I personally just tossed up some links here and there from lower quality sources, and ended up doing just as well as any other sponser program. Right now I'm 1:691 and with a bit of work and time, that can be improved greatly I'm sure.

personally, at the promo day i made 6 sales with a 1:550 ratio. with 0 $ investment and a LOT less traffic than you got ...

This is probably a little off topic but I did want to say that we will actually be offering a partnership program here soon at APC for those of you who would prefer that sort of system.. its just that I'm an anal retentive perfectionist programmer and I won't open it till I feel its working all the way. I got a few things in the recurring side of the system that I want to check out and go over one more time before we open it

I'm guessing 2-3 weeks if all goes as planned and nothing major comes up that side tracks me.. which unfortunately happens all too often.. lol..

Also hawg was talking about doing a CCBill thing where you would signup at CCBill and use CCBill tracking codes etc giving you guys more than one system/way to promote us which would of course solely rely on CCBill tracking for those of you who are skeptical of our system.. that's still in the R&D phase though.

I'd also like to add, good thread! I like seeing both sides of everyones stories, really gives me a good perspective of things. :D

I think a good mixture of PPS and revshare works best. For my mainstream traffic, I use PPS, for smaller niches revshare.

The harder it is for a surfer to find free content in a specific niche, the more likely he'll stay a member for many months or even years when you feed him with exclusive content, it's no rocket science.
