Just quit smoking...work rate down 98%

I just quit smoking using my favorite smoking cessation drug, Zyban. I've noticed that I spend 2% of my time working and 98% of my time checking if people responded to my stupid posts on this board.

Sweetjimmy,

I've been on Wellbutrin for over a year..which is the same thing as Zyban. Good Luck...and I mean that! I love to hear of anyone getting off of this god awful addiction. I have cut down...but not like I had hoped. But, you know it's all about will power, and, I guess I don't have any .

I HATE being a smoker! They got me when I was 13.... the fuckers. I'm not trying to pass the buck, I just know if I was even 16, I may have known better...maybe. I'm gonna die from this...I've just in the last year realized this. At 18, I said I'm quitting at 21. At 21, I said I'm quitting at 23. At 23, I said I'm quitting at 25. At 25, I said...I"M A FUCKING LOSER THAT WILL LOSE HALF OF MY LUNG BY 35!

I'm such a loser.

Congratulations on the quitting smoking thing!!!!!!!!!!!!
How long has it been since your last smoke? I'm working on trying to quit, but I just can't do it. Does Zyban really keep you from becoming an evil nicotine feanding monster?

Naked use the off the shelf patches and lots of livesavers candy (or your choice of hard candy) Might take you twice as long but they work. We are working on it that way and know others that have smoked 30 yrs that managed it with just that method. All the doctor scripts seem to fail in alot of folks. Oh and it means NO booze as well to pull the nicotine out. Cut caffiene and any other addictions to a minimum. Oddly, cut cigs, less desire for alcohol, cut alcohol less for the cigs. They work hand in hand for some reason.

18?? Quit now!!!

in all seriousness you guys should just keep trying. this is my fourth time and i hope its the last. I started smoking regularly when i was 15 i thought i was pretty cool at the time. If you do quit never ever take a single puff no matter what you say to yourself. The shit's worse than heroin. Last time I quit for over six months and when I went to europe in november i totally got fucked. My girlfriend smoked and pretty much everyone there smoked so i succumbed. I was weak.

Anyways, I quite last Sunday about 8 days ago and I'm trying to stay away from booze and weed. that always gets me.

If you can't quit make sure to eat vegetables and whole grains. Smokers have low levels of vitamin b12.

Good luck Jimmy...I truly, completely and utterly mean that. This is an addiction worse and, according to my bio-chemist fiancee, worse for your body than heroin.

I am sooooooo pulling for you.

but it tastes soooo gooood first thing in the morning....and a drink is too wet without one...

Good luck to you bud, i gave up a few times now - 6 months is my longest.
Take up running a circuit, just 2 miles - that way you will actually notice the benefits as your times get better and you actually get to FEEL your lungs doinng what they are meant to do

I quit cigarettes about a year and a half ago. Used to have a few once in a while if I went out drinking, but not even that as of the past year.

Hope you all make it, those who are trying to quit. I did it cold turkey with no meds and chewed on the (non-toxic) ends of strike anywhere matches to break the physical habit of smoking. To break the mental part I just told myself I didn't want to feel as icky in the mornings as I had for the past few years.

My doctor told me that it was the 2nd best move I could have made to lengthen my lifespan. The first thing would be to give up GFY'ing, he said.

I told him to GFH(imself).
