See farenheit 911 yet? Thoughts?

Saw it yesterday... man there is some disturbing shit in that movie. But I now have a better understanding of why Bin Ladded has not been caught and why he probably never will.

The ties between the Bush family, the Bin Laddens and the Saudi Royal family is fucking SCARY. Bandar Bush... Fucking assholes.

I seriously suggest seeing this movie... It pisses me off the NONE of this was ever covered by our media.

All I can say is... DO NOT make a judgement until you have seen this movie... not about the movie or your decision on who you vote for. Listen to ALL sides before making your decision this coming election...

See This Movie!

I will see it, but you need to understand that he only shows one side of the story without a chance for arguments.

Bset part of the movie was when he was walking up to congressmen to get them to enlist their kids in the military and do their part in the war.... Of course none of them would...

Just remember... if any of you have children of draft age... male or female... they will be off to war when Bush reinstates the draft.

If you Love your Children....

Forget Moore's stand on everything then, and just pay attention to the facts he lays out on the table.
They are very unsettling!

That would be true if you qualified it by saying "mainstream media". But nothing in Moore's film hasn't been reported by someone and usually in several places. For example, the information about the ties between Bush and Bin Laden's family was widely available within a couple of weeks of 911.

If you can ignore the "I was abducted by an alien" part of rense.com it is a good place to use as a gateway to "independent" media here and abroad. There are some very off-the-wall opinions there, but after a while you will collect links to a lot of good US and foreign news sources and visit them directly.

It's fair to say that Moore's film would be having far less impact (it likely wouldn't have been made at all), if the TV news in particular were not so sanitized.

Sorry... you are correct... I should have stated "Mainstream Media" or Corporate Media is a better term.

You can find any of the information in the film is public record and Moore hired a team of fact checkers to insure the right wing media couldn't say shit

Nope, haven't seen it yet, but I have seen his other movies, and just like all his others, he doesn't have many credible sources, just like the stuff you see on TV or "hear" from a friend, read on the internet, most people are sheep and take anything they hear or see as fact if they are TOLD it's a fact and never question it.

Bahh bahh sheep.

It's hard to imagine that people could be nieve enough to believe politicians have any integrity at all.

They are all bullshitters. They all lie and tell whatever crowd they're talking to exactly what that crowd wants to hear.

They steal through backdoor deals. They make sure contracts are awarded to their friends and supporters. They cut deals that put other peoples kids in harm's way for the sake of making money.

They waste money like there is no end to the amount they can siphon from the sheep who are in fear of what will happen if they don't allow them to excise a tax on their income every year.

They mismanage. They abuse power in the most attrocious ways imaginable as we've recently seen first hand.

You could go on and on.

Politicians are the scum of the earth. From all parties. There is no difference.

Talk about sheep... you are commenting on something you have nto even seen yet. How can you make an intelligent decision on something you have never seen?

See the movie... then come back with your opinions.

gleem are you serious? You're acting like the white house when they say that even without seeing the movie, they feel that Shrek contains more fact?

It's facts in a ADMITTEDLY slanted viewpoint. It's opinion. Ever hear of the glass half full/glass half empty theory?

Same old, same old. Don't argue with what Moore has to say, try to pretend it's all fiction.

If the sources bother you so much, do a search and find them, but I suspect you know perfectly well they are there.

I really do not understand the so-called right. Facts are the jump-off point for opinions. Whether it is music, art, politics or whatever, two people get exposed to the same information and reach two different conclusions. If you want to convince someone that their opinion is wrong, then explain how you reached yours or you try to point out the weakness in their logic. This "let's pretend the facts don't exist" approach is just so tired...

Agreed... These people re-building Iraq are making a fucking killing... all bush friends... EVERY ONE OF THEM. In the movie they shown these corporate people joking about getting something like 1.8 million on one contract and subing it our for 50k... and said "now that is a profit margin".

Very Very true, and the same can be applied to 95% of any type of media news source, lies, hearsay, and half truths.

You really have to question the integrity of a movie released now so the DVD can be out right before the presidential race gets thick.

Do you think Moore doesn't have an agenda?

The guy's a good entertainer, has a great technique of making anyone look bad, it's all entertainment folks.

You are right. All politicians are scum in general. So what we have to do is do what we can by choosing the lesser of the two evils offered to us every 4 years.
There has never been as evil an administration as now. When you send troops to die for $ while ignoring actual threats such as al quaida..that is just ridiculous..how much money do these guys need?

P.S. I am not part of the right wing, so don't bother trying to rile me up, I just don't put much weight on movies. I do want to see it, but spending $10 on a ticket to be barraged by liberal propaganda is not in my nature. have to wait to download it I guess.

Same thing for the Jesus movie, I wouldn't pay $10 to be barraged by religious propaganda, or anything to do with religious crap, politics, religion, it's all just propaganda to control you, don't buy into it.

The real tragedy in America is that we no longer have a democratic election system, unless you define only being able to pick 1 of 2 candidates to lead this country. I think they both suck, but any vote I make other than a DEM/REPUB just makes it easier for one of these 2 guys to win. Sad.

Exactly. These guys have their buddies setup companies in the US. They get awarded these billion dollar contracts for services and supplies, etc. and then go and find some local guys to do the actual work for peanuts and suck up enormous margins.

Then they'll use an excuse to justify the expense of a program with some bullshit like its a war zone so we have to allocate a lot of money for security.

Then it turns out the security company is a front too owned by US businessmen buddies sucking up another layer of bloated profits.

I would love to see the books for everything related to the accounting of every single thing we spent in Iraq. You could nail everybody with access to that. But of course no one gets to see the whole picture and that's what enables the corruption to propogate war after war.

YES... it is OUR tax dollars that is paying for this... OUR tax dollars that are awareded to these contractors... and OUR tax dollars going into the pockets of people who have way too much fucking money to begin with.

In the movie... they show these corporate people lauging at how they are getting millions, subcontracting for pennies and pockecing the rest... and lauging at how the American tax payer is the one getting fucked.

Moore has already stated in interviews, he presents publicly available facts and then adds his own opinion to them...

While I disagreed with a lot of Bowling For Columbine, I did find it entertaining and hey, it did open some lines of discussion...never a bad thing...

in regards to his position on gun ownership, I would agree

however on his position in regards to Bush & Asshat I think he is more in love with America than they are...clearly

I'll enjoy saying this while we still have most of our First Amendment rights intact....

call me a prick.. and I hate to say it, but I think bush might get assinated, or he should.... Someone is going to get sick of these politicians and put a stand, and quit letting them get richer and richer, while the average joe pays the price....... you think they give a shit about america? FUCK NO, I'm sure there are some politicians out there that are good and do care about america... but you know what they'll never become president, cause they don't have the money , friends and power.......

America is digging itself into the gound slowly but surely, and it's all about greed for money.....greed will catch up to them eventually, liek that bush fool goes to church and shit.. gimme a friggin break, does that make him sleep better at night.... that guy is an evil fuckn prick....

It is unfortunate that some of the brightest people/minds will never be President because they can't afford to run. Things aren't the way they used to be. It will be interesting to see if a "not rich" man/woman will ever be able to win a presidential election again.

Agree! It's a sad scenario when the more honorable and able - there are plenty of em with real experience of government and irrespective of any party politic shit, - are never in a postion to be elected and *actually* serve the people.

All that party political bullshit in the US is just smokescreen and an excuse to adopt "attitudes", often self-serving, that has very little to do with the well-being of the country.

Washington is riddled with the biggest load of fraudsters and lying wordsmiths ever found in one place. The only guarantee is that's it's never the best man who will win.

Same thing for the Jesus movie, I wouldn't pay $10 to be barraged by religious propaganda, or anything to do with religious crap, politics, religion, it's all just propaganda to control you, don't buy into it.
Gosh, you are a controlled leeming 365 days per year, and like an idiot you refuse to see the other side.

Scary shit.

"Nope, haven't seen it yet, but I have seen his other movies, and just like all his others, he doesn't have many credible sources, just like the stuff you see on TV or "hear" from a friend, read on the internet, most people are sheep and take anything they hear or see as fact if they are TOLD it's a fact and never question it."

If anyone is actually interested in the sources of the movie's information, Moore's last book "Stupid White Men..." documents each and every source. Sources are always mainstream news articles that were generally passed over by the public. BBC. NY Times. It's meticulously documented, and that book presents much of the same material that's presented in the film. So yeah, nothing new... but sometimes it helps to see it all pulled together.

Was a great movie, I highly recommend it and agree completely with the recommendation that people try to ignore the press scuffle about this movie and withhold judgement until they see it themselves. If this movie doesn't affect you, check your pulse. There were errors in "Bowling for Columbine," but this is an entirely different kind of film... and facts are significantly more secure. You just have to be intelligent enough to separate fact from editorial content. That's generally not too hard to do.
