But then, suddenly something happened. Johnson did not seek re-election thanks mostly to the very real anti-war sentiment in the country. And to this day, I honestly think if Bobby Kennedy had not been assassinated, we would have been out of Viet Nam a lot earlier and with much less loss of life. But the point here is to NEVER GIVE UP! People do make a difference even when it seems like it's an impossible task. |

When you stop foaming at the mouth Centurion, read the Bill of Rights to find out why the Patriot Act is wrong, then read the Geneva Convention to find out why torturing prisoners is wrong.
Then go shoot yourself in the fucking head, because as a conservative nothing you read or hear will make an impression on you and you'll always just be a really bad person, basically. |

But on the serious side, it is very very sad what happened there. I do not agree with any country going to kill other people from an another country, in their own damn homes, never mind torturing them. MonikaMaple |

Military and Police Trained K-9 Attack Dogs are about as scary as it gets. My Shepherds were all trained to that level and before you can do that you have to wear a sleeve and take some bites so you know the power you're about to instill into your dogs. I had to take a full charge and bite from a huge Rottweiler. He was about 50 ft. from me when the handler gave the attack command. Big fucker was salivating at me like he knew I was gonna piss in my pants the moment the handler released him. The charge itself was as scary as the anticipation of how bad the bite would hurt. The look in the dog's eyes was ominous and terrifying. It was like he was looking at me like I was his dinner. When the handler let go and he darted towards me, I couldn't believe the speed this dog charged me at. He was on my arm so fast I didn't even have time to react at all. Once he clamped on my arm it felt like my arm was being crushed under the weight of an 18 wheeler truck. I thought with the sleeve I wouldn't feel much, but the bite and grip power is unreal. I can't even imagine what it must be like without the leather sleeve. He twisted and took me down on the ground in a couple seconds. I'll never forget that "Owned" look that Rottie gave me either once I stopped trying to resist and started yelling for the handler to get him the fuck off of me. My arm was all red and swollen for a couple days and it took about month for all the pain from the crush of the bite to stop hurting. I think the worst part of this is the Iraqi guy was butt naked. That means he was probably worried as hell the dog was going to go for his weenie and eat it like a hot dog. |

balls on an anvil, sledge hammer, then have their friends eat the still pulsating balls then hold up a sign that says 'i got balls'? draw and quarter them like on Faces of Death impale them with bamboo and watch it expand, ripping them apart electric table-saw and cut down all their teeth in half while being held down? line them all up and inject them with HIV infected blood etc .. |

So let me get this straight, you think we're being too hard on Bush. How badly does he have to fuck up the US in order for us to put him under a microscope and take a look at his agenda? He's flushed our economy down the toilet with this unjustified war, and he's made America look like fools internationally.
And then let's address the issue of "painting someone as a saint". I think this applies more to the religious right than to anyone on the left, since you paint ANYONE who slaps a fish on their bumper as a saint. No joke. Just look at all of the churches, religious leaders and right wing extremists screaming "God Bless America, God Bless George W". Or how about "Vote for Morality". Since when is waging war on an innocent country the "moral" thing to do? Don't talk about painting someone as a saint until you realize that the right wing is more guilty of it than anyone. :2 cents: :2 cents: Quote:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Defense Department last year approved interrogation techniques for use at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba that include forcing inmates to strip naked and subjecting them to loud music, bright lights and sleep deprivation, the Washington Post reported on Saturday.
The techniques were approved in April 2003 and require approval from senior Pentagon officials and in some cases Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, the paper reported on its Web site, citing unnamed defense officials. It cited a hahahahahahahaha outlining 20 procedures that require interrogators to justify the harshest questioning techniques as a "military necessity," quoting an official said to possess the hahahahahahahaha. Some techniques require "appropriate medical monitoring," the report said. Similar methods have been approved for use on detainees in Iraq with links to terror or insurgent groups, though it was not clear whether they were approved for use at the Abu Ghraib prison near Baghdad, the Post said. |

'US soldiers abused young girl at Iraqi prison'
The US military has said it will investigate claims by a former inmate of Abu Ghraib prison that a girl as young as 12 was stripped and beaten by military personnel. Suhaib al-Baz, a journalist for the al-Jazeera television network, claims to have been tortured at the prison, based west of Baghdad, while held there for 54 days. Mr al-Baz was arrested when reporting clashes between insurgents and coalition forces in November. He said: "They brought a 12-year-old girl into our cellblock late at night. Her brother was a prisoner in the other cells. "She was naked and screaming and calling out to him as they beat her. Her brother was helpless and could only hear her cries. This affected all of us because she was just a child. The allegations cannot be verified independently but Mr al-Baz maintains psychological and physical violence were commonplace in the jail. He also claims that a father and his 15-year-old son were tortured in front of his cell. He said: "They made the son carry two jerry cans full of water. An American soldier had a stick and when he stopped, he would beat him. "He collapsed so they stripped him and poured cold water over him. They brought a man who was wearing a hood. They pulled it off. The son was shocked to see it was his father and collapsed. "When he recovered, he now saw his father dressed in women's underwear and the Americans laughing at him. Mr al-Baz claims the guards at the prison were keen to take photographs of the abuse and turned it into a competition. "They were enjoying taking photographs of the torture. There was a daily competition to see who could take the most gruesome picture. "The winner's photo would be stuck on a wall and also put on their laptop computers as a screensaver. |

Hmm.. What is your point? You're not saying ANYTHING. You've told me absolutely NOTHING I already knew. And if it's some sort of reverse psychology, you're very bad at it. Oh, and here's a bit of a clue for you, some people actually are involved in the process, changing the process, or both, and do a lot more than post "heroic" type of messages on websites like you do. Maybe practicing a bit more of what you preach is in order here. And you definitely need to know the person you are addressing a little bit better before you say anything in specific like this. |

Then I started to do volunteer work for a German Shepherd Rescue Group in the Valley. There'd be about 25 to 30 Sheps there at any one time and I and other volunteers who were able to handle K-9 dogs would go over and walk them for the old lady who ran the place. I do a lot of stuff for animal rights as you can imagine. |
