Depends on what kind of business you're in. A raise in minimum wage would create a whole new market for alot of businesses. More money in peoples pockets means more spending. More spending means more profit for companies who already pay their employees more than minimum wage.

Think about it. The guy who owns a mcdonalds has to shell out more, but his employees go and throw the money right back into the economy. Therefore his 401k plan gets bigger because the other companies in the economy are making bigger profits.

You go from nice to shit to nice to shit all in few blocks. And in that sort of situation, everything ends up shit, because it's all in the radius of poor desperate people who are more likely to commit crimes, either to get what they think they need or just to act out against a world they feel is not giving them fair compensation.
