How do you break the news you run an Adult site?

Last night was bizzare to say the least:

I was discussing with two of my fraternity brothers plans for after college, and when they specifically asked what I ment by "online entertainment", I went ahead and told them I just started a small TGP. (Exact words were "Adult entertainment, like a porn site...I already started one")

Their mouths dropped, one dude kinda blushed and the other one waited for me to say "just fucking with ya". I was quickly on damage control, telling them how technical things are and how boring it can be, but I could tell they were certainly like "WTF" and didn't want me to ever bring it up again.

The ride back home from our event was pretty silent, no mention of wanting to see exactly what I was talking about.

I personally don't give a fuck about what people's assumptions are, but I did tell myself I needed to be a bit more diplomatic when I decided to tell people I'm interested in working in the Adult industry.

This was the first time I told anyone about the site outsides thouse I've known for years (they think its fucking hilarious and a perfect fit for my personality). Perhaps I should just keep my fucking mouth shut and make up some lie about wanting to work a desk job.

How do others broach this subject?

What fraternity are you from? When I tell my friends at college what I do they always ask "Can I have a free pass?" , "Come on man, just a 1 day pass"...

I would say that you are fortunate.

Frat brothers were looking down on that? What right wing school do you go to where the guys aren't asking for passwords?

I can't really explain it either...I was kinda hoping for the "Are you fucking kidding? Hook me up man". Maybe its because we're all about "Men of Class" and that kind of stuff - Also maybe because I'm pretty clean cut and look like a giant preppy tool.

I'd like to think you can be classy and still run a tiny TGP at the same time...After there reaction I did kinda reevalulate why I started this in the first place.

I hope not...I joined this semester, we have a fucking blast together. I just talked with my mom a while back and she asked "what did you do again on the net".
She had some bleeding in her brain this spring and she has memory losses.. anyways, I told her (again) that I run porn sites. She was like "Like animalsex and stuff? I hope you're not doing childporn".

apparently she thought the word porn was for something illegal, she was relieved when I said I do just legal erotic stuff, and told her about pantyhose fetishes etc.. she thinks people who buy porn are nuts and laughed at them. She also thinks what I'm doing is cool because I sell stuff that has a demand. lol. She's been a merchant all her life, so she apparently can appreciate it. haha.
