Ok, the best way I have ever found to shush folks up is this:
Tell them the Johovah's Witnesses were seriously needing members so they decided to start paying...
Tell them, "You got chosen to lead the membership drive and they pay you $500... PER convert... Any questions?"
They'll be turned to run at 'Johovah's' part... and at a dead run at 'convert.'
They won't even HEAR the 'Any Questions' line.
