There are still tons of surfers who dont know about p2p file sharing, and just dont realize how easy it is to get free porn. Im talking about the older dudes who arent very computer literate. These guys are probably where the majority of sales come from. If you get enough people to your site, a percentage will be from that group, and you will make money. What is going to be interesting is what happens when this supply dries out and a new generation of computer literate surfers replaces them. Things will have to change. Not soon, but eventually.

If TGP's are not the source of so much free porn, causing surfers to have less of a need to buy a membership. I would love to here an inteligent responce to why it's not. If sales are not on the decline, then the only thing I could say... is that the industry is becoming controled by the big TGP's and the sales are going to the paysites that get listed on these big popular site?

It is refreshing though to see a thread here that has some meat to it though, instead of all the childs play...

watch a porno preview channel on TV- they ALL have 1 min clips. but they don't give all the sex away- they show flashes of different scenes - a preview of what you get but not enough time on any one scene to get into it, but enough so that you KNOW what you are buying. and lots of the cloths on parts too, they give TONS of that away - as a teaser.

TGP itself wasn't a bad concept until everyone started one. The nature of the TGP concept is self destructive since webmasters will do anything to attract the surfer, which usually translates into more free porn.

Add to that the traffic skimming and trading, making the trafic virtually worthless on most TGPs (people buying chinese and ethiopian and buttfucknowhere traffic with the intention of trading don't help)

Compare conversions 2 years ago to today's. I don't fear P2P networks as bad, face it Kazaa doesn't appear #1 under the "free porn" keyword on search engines.

It's SOOOOOOO fuckin easy for the surfer to get free porn nowadays.

Yes you do. Unfortunately you are assuming that, if we get into the habit of using the longer clip model, most submitters can be trusted to make true preview clips like the video people do instead of making clips as hardore as possible to one up the next submitter and get listed.

Remember, those channels are run by the studios so they are controlled to some degree and focused on maximizing sales.

In the hands of the webmasters long clips can and will go too far. The free site landscape is still the wild west.

The free porn doesn't come from TGP's at all. It comes from pay sites and porn production/content companies, and is sumitted by webmasters in order to..... you guessed it.... sell memberships. The TGP is only the vehicle by which the free sample porn is shown to the surfer.

TGP=vehicle
Paysites & Content providers=source of free porn

I don't think it's killing the industry. TGPs have put millions of dollars in the pockets of not only TGP owners, but also gallery submitters, designers, scripters, etc.

We're talking hundreds if not thousands of jobs from the TGP industry.

It would be pretty cool if all the TGP owners changed to TGP2 though.

I don't think the industry is dying, I do however see it sorting itself out. The small webmaster is getting pushed out and the companies that refuse to adapt to changes in the industry will be eaten alive.

In my opinion, If you keep ahead of the trends in the industry and can adapt quickly you will be very profitable.

With sites like gigagalleries.com who needs a paysite.

everyone and their mother has a TGP or is making TGP galleries.
I doubt many webmasters have seen things thru the surfer side.
