Here's an interesting side note:

My sister got married to the same guy she had been dating since she was 15 years old. She always said she thought he was the one, but she waited to finish high school and then University.

After doing that, she did marry him and continue to Vet school. 12 years after they first started dating, they're still married.

What's the point? Just tell her to wait. If she still feels the same way in a few years, when her future is a little more certain .. She can get engaged then.

I was engaged at 15 to a 17 year old guy. We didn't get married because he died a few months before the wedding. It might have turned out to be a mistake, but that was my choice. My parents were very understanding about the whole thing and told me to give it a few months (until I was 16) and if we still wanted to, they would let us, but if they'd tried to stop me I would have run away and they might never have seen me again. If you try to do something about it, you run that risk, and nothing you can do to either of them can change their minds if they have their minds made up.

Statistically, 2 out of 3 marriages fail now. Going in on shakey footing (the whims of a children) can't make the odds any BETTER.
