It's not how many troops they have there or what they contribute, it's the image that counts. With less and less countries supporting us on the international arena, we are more and more pressured as to what was the purpose of this war and if all those lifes that were taken were worth this war.

World power comes at a cost, which U.S. have underestimated. No empire lasts forever.

the problem with trying to find chemical/biological weapons is that such weapons may be "binary agents" with two ingredients that are innocuous, a good example of that is sodium chloride gas, very poisonous in it's mixed state, two relative harmless materials when not prepared as a weapon.

I doubt any binary agent is going to have instructions written on them for mixing with ingredient B to kill X amount of people, so proving that they were ever intended as weapons is extremely hard.

The next day Bush spoke with the Iranian people to have them allie with the US against the war on Terrorism. Iranian's did not want to have a part in any of the war. They simple wanted to live peacefully, so they said no.

A few days after Bush came out with his little "Axis of Evil" bull shit and listed Iran as one of them. Does that make sence to you? A country that doesn't want to get inolved in a war is now apart of the axis of evil? A country that mourned the death of thousands of American's is now apart of the axis of evil? He had weaponized plutonium during the first gulf war, in an effort to build a nuclear weapon, the inspectors even after the 1st gulf war said that they had made attempts to re-activate their then defunct nuclear program, the UN even crushed the so called "bagdadatron" (magnatron) used to harvest fissile material for a bomb, and he continued to try and reactive his weapon program.

Saddams only control on his neighbours and his own people was fear, it would seem to me he would obtain that status any way possible, including by manufacture of WMD.

Granted, I don't know this for sure 100%, but something tells me that they're not performing a blind scavenger hunt. "Finding" WMD might involve that in part, but only after setting in on suspect areas (those which have gained that status through other investigation).

If I was looking for 12 Barrels buried in California, I'm not gonna dig holes until they turn up, I'm going to find the documentation laying around that specifies where they're located.

If Saddam had containers of WMD buried out in the vast-nothingness zones of Iraq, wouldn't it be safe to logically assume that there would be some documented information as to where to find them?

Chemical and biological agent delivery systems are a distant bridge to cross when you don't have a way of locating the hidden ingredients.

I wouldn't assume that it is a blind dig to locate weapons, however there is also a chance evidence was destroyed in order to defy the U.N, not to mention people/places which had the information have been destroyed during missile/bomb strikes.

The United Nations believed there were weapons prohibited by them, and were unable to prove it (for example the "mobile" weapon labs)
Saddam has had over ten years of practice in coveting things he wanted hidden from the world, it is unlikely he would trust this information with soldiers, scientists etc. due to the high amount of defectors during the 1st gulf war who disclosed information to the U.N. I think it's a matter of time until evidence of either weapons, or weapon programs are disclosed.
