I think the best advice is only get involved in what you know. If your niche is designing galleries, design galleries and not sell memberships. In other words, stick with what works. That and get a good accountant, that way you can keep as much money as possible.

Keep a running list of any and all ideas you have for new business opportunities. Whenever you're sitting around bored, open the list, grab one of the ideas, and start putting it into action. ALWAYS put your ideas on the list as soon as they hit you. If you're in bed and an idea hits you, write it down and put it in the list the next day. Don't go to sleep without writing it down or chances are you will forget it.

A friend of mine told me about the dangers of having your hand caught in the monkey gourd...

Some tribes in Africa hunt for monkeys for dinner by first hollowing out a heavy gourd, then putting meat inside the gourd, and then leaving it in the jungle.

A monkey would eventually smell the meat and come around to get some. He'd put his hand inside the gourd and grab the meat.

But... once his fist was closed around the meat he could no longer remove his hand because the opening was too narrow. He wanted the meat so badly that he would not let go. This would slow the monkey down and the hunters then had an easy kill.

So...
