I started out working from a small office in my small house.

I then rented an office with 1,200 sq. ft. for about 3 years. I hired employees and paid them well.

After 3 years I let the employees go because they weren't doing much and had no vision. I let the office go when the lease renewed.

I sold my small house and bought a huge house and used the money I was previously spending on the office and employees.

Now I have a terrific home office and all I have to figure out now is what stuff to do during the day to avoid becoming a shut-in or agoraphobic.

What are you looking to spend per SqFt, and how many SqFt you looking for...? You're gonna need to know those two things before you go looking...

Take a look at Barrister Suites

This company core target is attorneys, however they may have something that will work for you.

They have a couple of locations in Centry City, and Beverly Hills that cater to the entertainment and advertising industries.

They have several packages and services which range from Presence (mail receiving) Solutions, to full time offices.

Their locations are generic, yet stylish. Each location is an entire floor of an office building with an impressive address. There are no "visable signs" as you exit the elevator, and all of your visitors are greeted by "your receptionist". The hallways are lined with lots of single room offices and/or cubicles. There are no individual "company or business signs, only generic name plates on door to identify the occupants name.

They answer and announce all of your calls, receive your mail and perform a wide varity of "pay what you use" services.

I used them up unitil a year and a half ago, and found them to provide me with great part-time office location and service.

Their locations can have a powerful effect on your clients who visit. When they arrive, there is nothing obvious that would suggest anything other than your business is successful and has the entire floor at a power address.

Yeh, but sign the shortest lease possible. Most companies outgrow office space fast and you need to have flexibility to adjust accordingly.

3000 sq ft is usually good for about 10+ people and lots of equipment if its laid out right.

i've found that most commercial landlords want as long a lease as possible.

You're right. Usually at least 3 years. But the desparate ones and there are a lot of them will give you a 1 year with a option for the other 2 if you press hard.

You're welcome.

FYI each location has an office manager, and depending on their current occupancy, you may be able to negotiate.

Keep in mind they are located at prime addresses, and parking can be a bit $$$.
