    france is fucked up....

    i'll move to another coutry

    17% of voters voted for a fucking nazi who will now run for the second turn...

    the only alternative we have now is the plague or the cholera..

    right wing or nazi extremists.... for the first time of my life i will have to vote for the right wing...

    then i'll move out to another country...

                                                                                  i am with 12clicks on this one. france is probably the most proud nation in the world. yet, in WW2, it took the nazis less than 24 hours to take the entire country, and instead of resistance, what the french people oferred was a government of colaboration with the nazis (Vishi).

                                                                                  if it wasn't for the Brits and later the Americans - the proud french people would speak german today...

                                                                                  france is the world anti-semitic capital today. there are more anti-semitic violence in france today than there has been in pre WW2 Nazi Germany. this is BEFORE these elections, so don't give me this 28% didn't go to vote.

Le Pen fested on it like a pig in shit and his electorate followed him to the urnes whereas the left wing and right wing were just as divided as ever and this time they shot themselves in the foot.
                                                                                                                  The turn out of voters was a record low. The French political class has a lot to be blamed for this. Especially the party programs that left the voters indifferent. The overall feeling yesterday was that it was going to be Chirac and Jospin in the second round whatever happened. Well, everyone sort of conveniently forgot Le Pen, thinking that he might do his percentage and then shut his trap for the next few months.
                                                                                                                  Everyone was wrong and unfortunately, we'll be hearing a lot from him in the next 2 weeks.
                                                                                                                  Whatever the turnout, I think the most justified thing said was from Dominique Stauss-Kahn:"The political class perhaps deserves what happened to it, but the French people don't deserve Jean-Marie Le Pen".

If 17% had voted for a communist party nobody would care. Afterall it is a democracy and people have the right to vote for whatever party they want.

                                                                                                                                                                                              Besides that, if there is everything right with france, people wouldn't vote for a right wing man/party, so try to check what problems in france have caused that so many people voted for le pen.

                                                                                                                                                                                              Btw., many of those that voted for jospin will vote for chirac on may 5th and everything will be fine again.
