Now I could be wrong, but she seemed to have some ethnic darkness about her when I saw her. Maybe a little bit of American Indian or maybe some latin like 1/16th. Even 1/32nd would do.

If this is the case we could make room for her in the family.

You want to have a strong right hand man, a man with a good reputation, a man who can hold his tongue, and finally, you want good friends and powerful friends on your side when you need them to be there.

Not everyone can be trusted

We all know there are different types of people in this world. Some good, some bad and some fools, that give the word "idiot" a bad name.

What are the different types of people in this world and which ones should I avoid at all costs?

Types of people

I'm going to give you guys four basic types of people that you will encounter in your business career as well as in your daily life. No matter how you slice it, every person you meet falls into one of these four categories and should be treated differently according to their type.

The four types are as follows: men that understand things on their own; men that can appreciate the intelligence of other men without necessarily being as intelligent; men who neither understand nor appreciate the brainpower of those that do understand; and finally, the flatterers. Read below to learn how to treat each type of man.

1) Men that understand things on their own
These are the men that move the world, the prime movers. They build the infrastructure and economy of a country. They say that history is written by the winners, well, these men are the winners of history. They are able to imagine the future, they have a vision of what they want to create in their lifetime and they find the resources necessary to make their vision come true.

They are the Caesars, the Aristotles, the Gates, and the Rockefellers of the world. These are men who shape the world to fit their mold, not men who let the world shape them. Try to associate yourself with this type of man as much as possible as they will likely bring out the best in you.

2) Men that appreciate the intelligence of others
Perhaps not on the same level as the prime movers of the world, these men are still able to achieve greatness and success in many ways. Usually allying themselves with a strong leader, their strength lies in being able to execute plans to perfection and being able to recognize and follow men of genius to help them achieve their goals.

Every great general has a strong second in command. Behind every great general there are great lieutenants. One feeds off the other. These, too, are men of honor and should be frequented as much as possible.

3) Men who neither understand nor appreciate
These men are not inherently bad people; they simply aren't very smart. By associating with this type you will likely encounter many failures before realizing you should stay away from them as much as possible.

The fact that they cannot recognize intelligence in other men renders them incapable of sound judgment. The last thing you need on your team is someone who can never make the right decision.

In the long run, bad decisions add up? to disaster. Now I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I can recognize talent.

When I meet a Caesar and have a chance to do business with him, I move full steam ahead because I know the venture will succeed.

4) Flatterers
Stay away from this type of scum at all costs. Men are vain creatures and will gladly listen to almost anything from almost anyone, provided it is what they want to hear. The flatterer will tell you what you want to hear, he will cajole you with his words, often in a very subtle manner, with the goal of obtaining something from you that he normally would not deserve.

The danger in believing the flatterer is that you might lose track of reality and make the wrong moves. The wrong moves can lead to disaster in no time. Flatterers can be people from within or from without your inner circle. Either way, they are dangerous. Do not succumb to flattery; it will mark your downfall.

The best way to avoid flattery is to let people around you know that you only want the truth from them. Make sure they know you aren't offended by the truth. This way you will get the real deal and can make the right decisions based on the right information.

You talk about family, understand there are families that pre-date the BP4L, the first generation pioneers of this industry who came together in 1996 and earlier and laid alot of the infrastructure webmasters drive upon today.

Many of us are still around and several are in our 40's and 50's now.

The difference is we took care of many in the industry, and did not work within our own group exclusively. We collectively came together and worked for the good of the industry and still do.

BP4L handles themselves different, and thats fine. But, my family did not wrong your family, so we cannot pay for a debt we did not owe.

That debt being race issues and discrimination in this industry which exists only in your mind.

If you really wanted to take up a cause, you could have done so to ensure the women have equal opportunity in this business. They have come along way babee, but they could go further.

There are NO race issues in this business, and there has never been any, and I will not let you in 2003 create any for the sake of saving face or justifying the existence of your family.

This is very true, Lee, women in this business are now giving a very strong showing. Although I have to give props to Boneprone, I've seen him give credit where credit is due, and there are women in the "family" (Not me, but others).

Have you not encountered chauvanism? I would think so.. It doesn't ruin things for me most certainly because I know my worth, however it is pre-eminent everywhere. Just one of the parts the industry, I guess.

This industry like any has it's good points and it's bad points, but I think that overall, it's one of the best to be in, because overall, it's the most accepting.

Yes, people can pick apart certain people or instances of this or that, but that doesn't change the fact that a cross-section of the business shows one of the most diverse groups of people with varying backgrounds anywhere in business, I think. That in itself is going to cause problems, but it's also going to make things that much more interesting.

My head is not buried in the sand Raven and I do not believe discrimination is a problem in this industry to the point where a family needs to bond to support and combat these implied issues in numbers.

BP4L has the right to be who they are for what ever reason. It is our right to say they have formed for the wrong reason if it was based on issues against minorities in this business.

We can talk skin all day long or we could talk about lifestyle discriminations and hardships too, but the bottom line is these are the cards we each either accept or reject as individuals.

We all had the right to attend public school, we all made our choices for our futures. Some chose to "skate" thru their lives others went on to make investments in themselves at their own expense.

Because I am gay society owes me nothing, and I am not going to bond with other gays as a means to accept the indifferences.

Thats weak, its hard for me to accept a minority person being born and deciding to make this life one big excuse because of his forefathers. The generations now are not in those same hardships but so many use them as excuses to make nothing of their lives.

When I decided to put myself thru college at 30, my GPA meant nothing because all the scholarships went to minorities. At 37, I got my BS and also got $30K in school loans for the next 20 years.

No free lunch for me.

Its called do something with you life.

As for BP4L I think it represents an issue thats not present in our business but an issue because of its formation and its basis for formation.

If you want to talk discrimination, BP4L is a classic case within themselves. Their very formation is a discriminatory stance against those that do not meet their racial or minority guidelines.

So is this a case of them forming because of racism, or was it formed to bring racism into this industry.

This business is built on honor and respect, not skin or ethnicity.

BP4L serves a purpose.

My only hope is they are part of a solution and not part of the problem.

You talk about family, understand there are families that pre-date the BP4L, the first generation pioneers of this industry who came together in 1996 and earlier and laid alot of the infrastructure webmasters drive upon today. Many of us are still around and several are in our 40's and 50's now. The difference is we took care of many in the industry, and did not work within our own group exclusively. We collectively came together and worked for the good of the industry and still do. BP4L handles themselves different, and thats fine. But, my family did not wrong your family, so we cannot pay for a debt we did not owe. That debt being race issues and discrimination in this industry which exists only in your mind. If you really wanted to take up a cause, you could have done so to ensure the women have equal opportunity in this business. They have come along way babee, but they could go further. There are NO race issues in this business, and there has never been any, and I will not let you in 2003 create any for the sake of saving face or justifying the existence of your family. Boneprone, do the right thing.

My head is not buried in the sand Raven and I do not believe discrimination is a problem in this industry to the point where a family needs to bond to support and combat these implied issues in numbers. BP4L has the right to be who they are for what ever reason. It is our right to say they have formed for the wrong reason if it was based on issues against minorities in this business. We can talk skin all day long or we could talk about lifestyle discriminations and hardships too, but the bottom line is these are the cards we each either accept or reject as individuals. We all had the right to attend public school, we all made our choices for our futures. Some chose to "skate" thru their lives others went on to make investments in themselves at their own expense. Because I am gay society owes me nothing, and I am not going to bond with other gays as a means to accept the indifferences. Thats weak, its hard for me to accept a minority person being born and deciding to make this life one big excuse because of his forefathers. The generations now are not in those same hardships but so many use them as excuses to make nothing of their lives. When I decided to put myself thru college at 30, my GPA meant nothing because all the scholarships went to minorities. At 37, I got my BS and also got $30K in school loans for the next 20 years. No free lunch for me. Its called do something with you life. As for BP4L I think it represents an issue thats not present in our business but an issue because of its formation and its basis for formation. If you want to talk discrimination, BP4L is a classic case within themselves. Their very formation is a discriminatory stance against those that do not meet their racial or minority guidelines. So is this a case of them forming because of racism, or was it formed to bring racism into this industry. This business is built on honor and respect, not skin or ethnicity. BP4L serves a purpose. My only hope is they are part of a solution and not part of the problem.
