				Adobe?
I have been using Adobe programs for many years. Tired of paying $53 a month and getting constant problems with their software. What would you suggest instead, for programs like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and premiere? Thanks in advance

				 | I know what you mean - I downloaded Dreamweaver after not using it for a few years and I was amazed - It's the biggest pile of shit I have had the misfortune of using!.. As far as replacements for that go I am using Wappler - It has a high learning curve but is seriously powerful, especially for database/Api integration..... As far as the image progs go I use a whole variety of different software that are specialist in what they do - But I am a lightweight on that side of things... |

				 | I agree- I hate the idea of paying an ongoing subscription for creative software. I subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud recently for a couple of months just to use Premiere Pro to edit a movie since I was so familiar with it from years ago before it was Pro version even. But I'm cancelling before getting re-billed. I'm actually open to trying Vegas or Davinci Resolve for the first time now if they can work with modern day codecs I would use. For photo editing GIMP is freeware and pretty powerful nowadays with a nice graphical interface. |

				 | I only pay $20 for Adobe CC. I have a family member that is a university student and she didn't need it, so she let me use her student discount. Maybe that's an idea for some of you. If you have a Mac, there is a software called SetApp that comes with a shitload of useful tools for developers, it $10 a month and it's a bargain. If you're just working with graphics, especially for social media, book covers, t-shirts etc Canva is a good deal for the professional version at $13/month |

				 | there's no substitute for photoshop. you gotta bite the bullet on that one. dreamweaver is lame as fuck. learn html or use one of a thousand page builders online. i didn't even know they still sold it lol this is the coolest video editor: Download Free Video Editor: best software for video editing. free version is fully functional, pro version, for $20 a YEAR has tons of extras. i used premiere and sony vegas for many years. i switched to vsdc and haven't looked back. you have to learn it, like anything else, but then you can edit video really fast. #

				 | Macromedia was the shit.. they were the only real competition to adobe.. It's just like in the 3D world audiodesk has bought up so much of their competition.

				 | A tip for those that don't have their own Cray Supercomputer at home, you can fire up a Google Cloud Platform Windows instance for just a few cents an hour that will run any of this software - You get $300 free credit when you start your account, so basically it's free for the first year... |

				 | I notice over the years of using Adobe. That the best version always seems the 3 year old versions. The new update and the second year version always loaded with problems. Yet, for some reason when the verson gets to be 3 years old, it all works.

				 | Google GIMP. I use it on Linux. Very good! Not quite as good as Photoshop but it's FREE! I dumped windoz at version 7, version 10 came with a computer I purchased and I fucking hate it! Too many adds on software you pay for. Total bullshit. I do keep it though as Linux dose not really have anything that will read my older canon video recorder. Tape and firewire.... the good old days LMAO. Other than that, I switched over to Linux Mint Cinnamon. Damn good OS IMO. KdenLive is decent for video, Vegas Video like. As for Dreamweaver... I use an IDE to code. I use Oracle Netbeans 8.2, I like it better than the new Apache version. They ALL have windows versions if you do not want to switch to Linux and they are still free. Just watch getting from the Microsoft store, they charge for some of these free programs. Hope some of this helps.

I have an older Canon video camera. It will not pull video from the camera so I have been using Vegas. Even the files I pull from the camera from Vegas would not load in Davinci. Pulling stock video from the web, I was able to play with it a bit. I do like the program and would not mind having a copy... I really want to dump windows altogether. I only use it to pull video. So far all I can find in Linux to do this is a program that is command line driven. I was real hopeful with this software, I like that they have their own consoles as well. Maybe it's time to update my video camera LOL. It been a while since I have been in this forum, do they have private email here? If so, please mail me your terms
