Problem is he's right, the biggest expanding markets for America's Export companies is Asia Look at Apple, Microsoft, Starbucks, McDonalds, Ford, GE and Harley and the only market that's expanding for them is.. Asia, and none of them have more than a 7% share there so there is a LOT more money to be made. Any trade imbalance now will flip as China grows. China only does 23% of its trade with the USA so no matter what Trump does, they still grow. Sure he can slow it, but it can't be stopped.

If you think these companies can compete in China buy making something in the USA at higher prices because of Trumps tariffs, and then ship that back to China to sell... your sadly wrong... eg: Germans have their factories in China already, making cars for the Chinese market.

This is a perfect example of what Trump is doing to hurt American businesses. First Harley Davidson has to build a plant in Asia because Trump killed the TTP, and now because of tariffs it has to build plants in Europe. This exactly what happens when you walk away from trade agreements and start trade wars with our allies.

Harley Davidson is already having issues. There is a good chance it will go under because of Trump's policies.

I don't get this at all. People are blindly following him. I try not to get into debates on Facebook about this, but my local city councilman posted an article from the "National Review" about the immigration crisis and called it "refreshing, truthful, and accurate". I argued the problem had nothing to do with a law signed in 1996 (or the resulting Supreme Court decision in 1997) and they argued that Trump "couldn't fix this" and it was was "up to Congress" and that we must "obey the law". I asked them to point out the law that says we have to do this and they were unable to. I asked one of my friends to point out this law to me - five different times I asked - and when he failed to do so I pointed out in the Flores vs Reno ruling that we were doing the direct opposite of the law.

What a difference a few days makes. It turns out there is no law, and it was a policy, and it was quickly fixed by a single order from Trump. (Which of course only led to more confusion.)

It's no difference here. Baddog is trying to spin this like "Oh, Haley Davidson made this announcement to close a plant months ago". Well, sort of. The announced they were going to shut down a plant and open a new one in Asia because Trump left the TTP, and now we have ANOTHER announcement that they are opening up a new plant in Europe because of Trump's trade war.

Trump's policies are destroying an American icon.

Last year Trump did quite a few media events with Harley Davidson showcasing them as a prime example of an American company that's going to flurish under his policies.

Harley Davidson makes bikes for "outlaws", which was hip, cool, and trendy in the 1960s and 1970s. It's sort of like how truck drivers were considered cool in the 1970s. That era is long gone, and Harley Davidson failed to modernize. They just don't make motorcycles that millennials are interested in.

I never understood Harley Davidson - at all. Just not a fan. I grew up riding dirt bikes and trikes and then motorcycles, and love the freedom and the feeling a motorcycle gives you. Riding down the highway at 65 MPH sitting upright like you are sitting in an office chair isn't what I call fun. Fun on a motorcycle is tucking in nice and tight on a bike so you feel like one with the bike, hitting those curves at speed.... Harley Davidson just doesn't invoke excitement with younger generations.

Harley was has been working on merging their Kansas City plant with their York, Pa. plant since 2015. Now they're forced to move it to Thailand because of Trump's trade war.

that means:
1. this companies will not pay any tariff inside USA but they will face tariffs selling this cars back to their homeland. means: they will produce LESS cars there.
2. As this cars are also build in Germany and other European Countries - the production for Europe will increase here.
