Republicans Playing PICKLE with themselves
I just wanted to take a moment to see what if......
if Paul Ryan gets Speaker Nom... They will find a few measures they can agree on and pass without to much argument and call it a victory. But past that honeymoon, the underlying problems are still there, so that is the end of it. It takes quite a bit to walk away from the Chair of the Way and Means Committee as it is the most powerful committee in the government that has control of spending. I hope it is worth it to him. if Trump gets the GOP nom... Game over for all GOP's. He has pissed off the one demographic group that the party needs to get elected and it is spilling over party wide. Loss of House and Senate Majorities inevitable. if Carson wins the GOP nom... It's hard to think of a Black Man winning anything in the GOP after spending and spinning so much to give other reasons to hate Obama, other than the deep seated feeling that they don't like Blacks. Problem is, for him to win the presidential race, he needs most of the Black vote, especially in the south where there will be a very light turn-out because he is black. Most of which has been made much harder for those Blacks to vote because of the new voter laws that were designed to make it harder for them to vote. Of coarse, they could have a sudden change of hart if he gets the nom. All in all, they planted the tree and made the rope that they now hang from. Pushing unrealistic ideas and giving unrealistic expectations for legislation that could never pass and now the base that they stirred-up with lies wants answers they can not provide. Maybe they should just vote to repeal Obamacare again for the 9th time. That will fix it ! It's now a blame game with the compromising moderates in the target sight. And if they do manage to get rid of the moderates, they are done as a party... For Ever ! A new party will be created. Well the tree is getting bigger and the rope is getting tighter... It's now Self Lynching ! |

republican party in the USA has lasted 250 years, through thick and thin, war and peace. a black dude or a billionaire won't spell the demise of the party.

The demise of the republicans does not ride on a billionaire or a black man, as they are a result. It rides with the party that can't get legislation passed or get themselves elected or re-elected. Never in the history of this country has a majority holder of House and Senate fail to produce any substantial legislation let, alone pass a budget. Those that created all this fear and hate, now have to live with the monster they created. They seem to have no control of it. It is eating them from the inside out. It's just a observation... I'm not sure where you get 250 years from a party that started in 1854? It was created from divisions in the Whigs party. A division and new creation I see happening again. Just because you can't continue to piss-off large groups of voters and expect to stay in power. There are only so many gun-toting heterosexual white males. And they are not the majority. Being that I am all the above, and they pissed me off some time ago with terrible legislation and budget shell games in the name of war and national security, I wait for something better to come from the ashes. |

In my opinion, today's republican party is just flat-out wrong on so many things. And even if they used to be right / positive / fair, they've been corrupted by big business, lobbyists and special interest groups.

it was a bunch of rambling personal thoughts you have based on a previous slight you think you got from 100 million republicans in the USA, which is ~250 years old, thus the fact that i pointed out that the Republican party in the USA has survived 250 years. Republicans didn't create fear and hate. those are human emotions that span time. besides, the entire world spins on fear and hate. everything you buy is based on fear, fear of not getting something you want or fear of losing something you have. |

The republican party isn't going to go away any time soon, but depending on the outcome of this next election they may find themselves having to make a major pivot. If it is the worst case scenario for republicans and Hillary wins the White House and the democrats take back the house, senate or both, the republican party will once again be in major flux. They've been very ineffective with their house and senate leadership and if they lose the White House again it will be a bad omen for them.
The reality is that the number of white voters in this country are on the decline while the number of Hispanic voters is growing fast. More and more people are registering as independents. The republicans need to find a way to connect with those minority voters. They were trying to do that recently, but Trump came along and pretty much destroyed all that work. So, if they lose this election and things go badly they are going to have to take a long look at themselves and determine how they can appeal to a changing electorate. Of course they could end up holding on to the house and senate and win the White House. If that happens it will likely be more of the same from them. |

Any political pivot isn't easy, but voters' memories are short and things change. A lot of it also has to do with the opposition's candidates and how good or bad they are doing. |
