That said, what have the Republicans accomplished in 2 terms of the black president? Fought him on everything, stalled government, threaten to crash the economy with debt ceiling, stop the government annually.

Feel free to chime in with that they have actually accomplished for 'the citizens' in the better part of 5-6 years now.

The only thing Republicans in congress are good at, is getting nothing done. I think they just hate America..

I wish we could find some vacant land in the middle east and let them form their own country.

They would fit right in with all the other backwards nations there. They could have all the wars they wanted and be bff's with Israel.

I'm watching MSNBC this morning. The "Jansing & Co" show.

The liberal pundits are going CRAZY over this. lol

They sound panicked and frantic as they all come on one after another screaming "Tea Party" and showing John Boehner flip-flopping.

They are all making the grave statement that this is going to destroy the Republican party, etc., etc.

The tone of their voices and the frantic carrying on that they are doing leads to me believe that the Republicans might be doing the right thing.
A sure fire way to know if you are doing the right thing is if you're opposition is going ballistic about you doing it.

If this is really so bad for the Republicans then you would think the Dems would be kicked back gloating...instead of practically begging them NOT to do it. lol

These pundits on MSNBC wouldn't last long in a game of Poker. heh-heh

Here's the way I see it:
Every member of Congress is supposed to be there to REPRESENT their constituents.
Right now, ObamaCare is an unpopular program. And every Republican sitting in The House was elected on a promise to repeal ObamaCare.

The Congress has one MAJOR job assigned to it in our govt.
And that is to control the purse strings.

It is the thing that they are Constitutionally mandated to do.

A real leader would have reached out to Congress from the beginning and made it happen.
Just like Reagan did with the Dems in Congress.
Just like Clinton did with the Repubs in Congress.

Face it...Obama has been arrogant and aloof. From the very beginning he has shoved stuff down the Republicans throat. Even ObamaCare was passed in the Senate on a procedural trick (there were actually 51 votes AGAINST it in the Senate when Scott Brown took the vacated seat of Ted Kennedy.

And then of course the smug Nancy Pelosi telling Congress that they had to vote for it before they could read it. lol

Obama has himself to blame.
And the fact that he has already delayed it for Big Business AND The Unions are demanding to be exempt from it AND Congress gave itself a big subsidy for themselves, their families, and everyone on their staff...should tell ALL of you everything you need to know about ObamaCare.

It's a trainwreck.

Business people say so. The Unions say so. And Congress even says so for their own personal health insurance.

The only people who are gonna get straddled with this are all of us citizens NOT in the "Ruling Class" (politicians, lobbyists, big business, and unions)

Barefootsies 09-19-2013 07:25 AM

I'm sure the same could be said about.... FDR's New Deal, Social Security, Medicare, Bush's Medicare Part B, FMLA, regulating banks and credit cards, or any other government program or agency when it was first formed. In the end, while not perfect, it worked out.

I think universal healthcare is a great thing, but I don't think "Obamacare" is the right plan for the country.

Maybe so, but consider that until now, no US president ever had a plan that passed.
There is no previous plan to compare it to.

The plan is never the original because of the bill being tailored by the opposition by adding "pork" to the bill that's
only removed when the other side changes what they wanted.

So don't forget about that fact : We don't have Obama's original plan, we have a plan with lots of concessions to get GOP approval in congress.

blackmonsters...to use McConnell saying that he wants the Republicans back in power in 4 years to justify a lack of leadership by Obama is disingenuous.

EVERY politician wants the opposition party Pres. OUT in 4 years. That's the way the game is played.

But some real leaders like Reagan and Clinton were able to reach out and make things happen.
My God...I remember the relentless slagging of Reagan during his term by liberals. He was fucking hated.

And in more recent times...I'm sure that most of us can remember what the Republicans did to Clinton. They actually IMPEACHED him, had him disbarred, etc.

And yet, both men were able to reach out and work with the opposition party and get things done.

With Obama...even his own Democrat Congressmen and Senators say he is aloof and they can't get an audience to talk with him. He seems to ALWAYS be on the campaign trail. Out doing town hall meetings and trying to get on television instead of working with Congress.

He can make excuses all he wants.

But the old saying goes: "Excuses are for losers. Winners don't need them"

i am not a specialist for american politics - but i think back then, the party leaders had the authority they needed to make decisions

now you have Boehner that has no control over the 40 crazy tea party people that refuse any form of compromise

Robbie 09-19-2013 11:49 AM

MaDalton...there have always been extremists in BOTH parties.

The Tea Party politicians RAN on doing what they are doing.
They promised the voters that this is what they would do.

You can say that it's the Tea Party guys who won't "compromise"...but you can easily flip that and say it's the Dems who won't compromise.

Would you think it's right if the Tea Party guys just turned around and went against everything that the voters sent them to Washington to do?
They are supposed to represent their constituencies.

Unlike Obama...they are actually doing exactly what they promised with no b.s.

Hard to find fault with that.
If every politician in Washington did the same thing (as far as truthfully representing the people who voted them in), we'd have a much better situation.

So those 2 years when the Democrats had control of the house, senate and president, they got a lot done? They barely got Obamacare done, they are like herding cats.
Unemployment was terrible, still is, and they spent all that power passing Obamacare, something that the Unions that backed it even want to change!
I think they hate the working American people!

Robbie 09-19-2013 02:15 PM

Again, I'd like to show the flip side of the coin...grinding the Govt. to a halt might be the best thing to happen.

I looked at this today by the way.

There hasn't been a budget in years now. The President is supposed to submit a budget in a timely manner...Congress is supposed to tweak it, negotiations take place and then FINALLY a budget happens.

But that has not happened at all. Obama has missed the deadline for even SUBMITTING the budget 4 out of 5 years.

So the whole govt. is running on a "CR": Continuing Resolution

Apparently the Republican gambit in this is to submit a CR that funds EVERYTHING except ObamaCare.

So if the Pres. wants to have Harry Reid and the Senate approve that CR he, and he alone...will be responsible for keeping the govt. running.

It takes 2 to tango. And the President has been very, very detached from working with Congress.
Somebody is going to pay the piper.

If all of you who believe Obama Care is really, really good for the country truly believe in your ideals..then this is a GREAT thing!
The Republicans will screw themselves and be voted out of office for it.

So what's up with all the screaming about it from Democrat pundits? They should be happy!
UNLESS...they are seeing the poll numbers which say the majority of the American People don't want it.

Nothing scares politicians more than losing elections.

Then they lose their power and money. (and their exemption from ObamaCare too lol)

I guess we will see what happens.
But right now the Republicans are pretty confident and are giving the impression that they are following the mandate of their constituents.

But y'all know how politics goes. A week from now that could be reversed...or not.

A lot of Dems are real nervous right now with elections around the corner for them...especially after those Dems got booted out of office in a recall election in Colorado after they voted for more gun control.

In the end...if you piss off the voters TOO much, they will finally take notice and then it's your ass.

So we'll see if it's Republican ass or Democrat ass that's on the line here...but at the moment it seems to be Democrats pitching a hissy fit and screaming about the "crazy" Tea Party.

Time will tell.

bronco67 09-20-2013 05:09 AM

Maybe some of you should read this. When you see dumb asses in a mob holding signs to destroy Obamacare, I wonder if even half of them know a damn thing about it. They're just taking up the fight against president Blackenstein.

I find it amusing that you referred to Presidents Reagan and Clinton as real leaders. I also find it amusing that you seem to think it was a good thing that they were able to "make things happen". They sure did...all kinds of bad things. Below are just a few of the thinks they made happen.

They are the primary reason for the situation that the country finds itself in now. President Reagan is responsible for the huge National Debt we have as he was the first to begin borrowing money from foreign countries (which every President since has done in ever growing amounts) and raising the national debt from less than 1 Trillion dollars to more than 4 Trillion dollars. He also was a big time meddler in the Mid East.
I could go on but I won't.

Bill Clinton was responsible for NAFTA...which is responsible for a major loss of American jobs leaving the country. He is also responsible for not capturing/killing Osama Bin Laden when he could have done on multiple occasions. I could go on but I won't.

It takes two sides to work together. When obe side publicly states their entire goal is to stop Obama from getting anything done, yet somehow you expect Obama to shit rainbows and if he can't everything is his fault.

Obama isnt the black jesus, he can only do so much, when the other side is not willing to work for the good of the country.

When will you ever lay any blame to the Republican congress? Its always Obamas fault with you.

How much further does Obama have to reach to make yu happy? Obamacare is nothing like he orginally wanted. Hes changed a lot to get Republicans to agree to pass it. They agreed and now they are on attempt 44 trying to stop what they agreeded to.

It's more like "what can we do to please the corporations that have us in our pockets?"

When they voted down a gun background check that was supported by 90% of the public, do you think they did it because they love guns so much, or they like the NRA's big checks?

Vendzilla 09-20-2013 09:52 AM

People voted in the democrats in 2006 and Barry in 2008 because of the wars we were in and the financial mess, yet here we are, still have a lot of troops in the middle east, sending more drones than ever and looking for another fight to continue what Bush started! Unemployment is still at a lofty high, people are underemployed, food stamps are at 400% of what they were 5 years ago, we're sending guns to Mexican drug lords, the government is spying on it's citizens, the IRS is being used to bully conservative groups, even the press is getting spied on. And after 4 years of Barry not passing a budget, you pissy little whiners are upset because the GOP wants to make some changes? REALLY?

All this and Los Angeles County spends over 650 million dollars a year on welfare to illegal aliens.

Blame game isn't working anymore, be you democrat or GOP, this is fucked up and blaming it on the other side is BS, unless you are the President I guess.

Reagan never said that, he was more the Buck Stopped here kinda guy

And after 4 years of Barry not passing a budget, you pissy little whiners are upset because the GOP wants to make some changes? REALLY?

All this and Los Angeles County spends over 650 million dollars a year on welfare to illegal aliens.

Blame game isn't working anymore, be you democrat or GOP, this is fucked up and blaming it on the other side is BS, unless you are the President I guess.

Reagan never said that, he was more the Buck Stopped here kinda guy

Except on iran contra lol Then old ollie was thrown in the hole.

And it's not just our current Congress. It's everything since 2001 - They've been on a steady decline.

The problem is Congress no longer represents the people, but instead ONLY represents their party. The goal is not to do the right thing or to serve the people, the only goal is to beat the other side.

Since the Syria incident their job approval rose according to a search I did yesterday, but of course it's shitty anyway.

No taxation without representation sounds about right these days. "ya call this representation?"

Funny that these very same congressmen blocked a gun background check that was extremely popular with the people of this country. I guess they only hav to vote for what the people want as long as their lobbyist buddies say its ok.

He changed NOTHING to get "Republicans to pass it".

He changed EVERYTHING to bow down to the medical, big pharma, and insurance company lobbyists.

No Republicans voted for ObamaCare so you are greatly misinformed if you think he changed it for them.
Matter of face nobody (dem or repub) even knew what was IN the bill when they were forced to vote for it.
Nancy Pelosi:"We have to vote for it to know what's in it"

And finally...when they DID get it passed in the Senate, they used a little bit of trickery to null and void Senator Scott Brown's vote AGAINST it. It would not, and should not have passed on a vote in the Senate even.

Some of you need to really do some reading and listen to The President's own voice during the campaign about "transparency" and airing the entire writing of the health bill on CSPAN so the American people would be able to follow it every step of the way.

He lied. Just like a corrupt lifetime politician does (Republicans AND Democrats)

Yeah, it's real poplular. Tell it to the 2 Colorado Congressmen who just got voted out on a RECALL for voting for gun control.

crockett, you have no idea how normal people think and feel. Just like Washington D.C. doesn't know. And just like the elite smarmy, arrogant pricks on MSNBC don't know.

They (and you) live in a bubble.

The stats I posted were month to month and not recent.

I think Obama fucked on Syria. He drew a "line in the sand". You should never do that. Once that line is drawn and then crossed, it forces you into an action you don't want to take and makes you look like an ass when you retreat.

You say this as if this is a bad thing. We are able to target our enemies without so much as setting foot in a foreign country. That's ideal.

After all of the excitement... We have yet to see how the government is doing anything illegal.

Don't forget to mention the IRS is illegally targeting junior sports leagues too - you know, youth football, etc. The IRS is doing it's job, and properly investigating groups that tend to break laws.

Once again Congress has just wasted our time trying to shut down a bill that has already passed AND been attacked from every possible legal angle - and it's still in place.

I think this is great - The Republicans will come out looking horrible after this. They already know this bill will fail, and even if it does pass it will be vetoed, and the Republicans will left holding a bag of shit - they will either have to retreat, or they will be the cause of the government shutting down. Either way, this will be nothing short of massive failure for the Republican party.

The only time I watch Fox news is when John Stewart runs their clips to mock them.

I just hate people that try to twist reality into a handful of bullet points that are completely misleading. At this point that's all Vendzilla does.

I'm ok with us giving up some weapons to get our hostages back

Reagan was the great communicator, he worked to end the cold war, Barry it seems is trying to get it started agaion

Barry is giving weapons to all sorts of other countries

http://news.firedoglake.com/2013/09/...syrian-rebels/

The president, citing his authority under the Arms Export Control Act, announced today that he would ?waive the prohibitions in sections 40 and 40A of the AECA related to such a transaction.?

Those two sections prohibit sending weaponry to countries described in section 40(d): ?The prohibitions contained in this section apply with respect to a country if the Secretary of State determines that the government of that country has repeatedly provided support for acts of international terrorism,? Congress stated in the Arms Control Export Act.

The rebels are linked to Al-Qaeda, so I guess the US is giving arms to the Al-Qaeda, thanx Barry, fucking asshole

Wrong

Democratic Sen. Robert Byrd was also known as Grand Kleagle Byrd.

The ex-Klansman later filibustered the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act ? supported by a majority of those ?mean-spirited? Republicans ? for more than 14 hours. He also opposed the nominations of the Supreme Court?s two black justices, liberal Thurgood Marshall and conservative Clarence Thomas. In fact, the ex-Klansman had the gall to accuse Justice Thomas of ?injecting racism? into the Senate hearings.

Sometimes I turn it to FOX just to see what ridiculous shit their saying. They were just bashing the new healthcare law because the Cleveland Clinic has to lay off some workers to make room for the changes that Obamacare is putting forward. They were blathering about it killing jobs, but the administration of the hospital has said they're just getting ready for "the new normal", which is lower payouts from Medicare. But FOxnews doesn't report that. Their story is the "job-killing Obamacare", and they just complain, practically spitting at the camera they're so fucking mad. It's funny.

When Michelle Malkin is on, it's even funnier. She's a cunty shrew that always has a stank face on.

He defied an embrago to sell arms the Iranian government . Sold them over 1500 missiles and 12 million of the 30 million showed up. The rest was funding the contra's. Reagan let Ollie hang in the wind, truly gutless. If Obama did that you would be calling for his head on a stick lol
