So yea, give me all your problems. Pile them up!

2) Nothing you can do about it. What happens off cam really isn't much of your business. People who will have sex in front of a camera are usually fairly promiscuous.

3) Stay out of it. As long as it does not disrupt your shoot or the other "models" don't complain, it's really none of your business.
Yeah, lol, I guess I got it good. Thanks DWB, appreciate the advice!

Just trying to get you to have an epiphany and go: "Hey, I'm not sexually repressed...what was I thinking??

It sucks you don't have a mentor that hasn't shown you the ropes, I didn't either and after 14 years of filming I can say your gut is right, follow it. There is some really bad advice in this thread that will lead to:

1) you losing control of models on set ~ which affects your product & bottom line

2) losing models to other studios ~ which affects your product & bottom line

3) being forced to deal with off camera/off set model on model drama ~ which takes up your time and energy & affects your bottom line

What you should do:

1) Prime your models @ the time you approve them for a shoot.

You can say "Jane/John Doe I'm going to give you a primer for how we act and interact during shoots at our studio" You can aslo include a bullet point primer on a note card with every model release packet the model is handed.

2) When they arrive for the shoot lightly say "Jane/John remember the primer right?" in private.

That puts him/her on notice that you expect her to behave within certain guidelines.

3) At any time before, during, or after a shoot if a model steps out of bounds gently remind them of the primer.

Say "Jane/John remember the primer" This avoids you having to go into detail and seem like you're insecure and or "hen pecking" talent on things that, outside your set, could seem normal or trivial.

4) Other models will appreciate you enforcing the primer.

A lot of models are there to do their job, not be hounded by another model on the prowl, or get personal with other talent. They are the ones you want to work with and they will respect you more.

There's a lot more but I'm out of time I hope this helps

1) A girl asking another person if they want to party later isn't going to cause you to lose control on your set. If it does, then you never had control of the set. Shooting porn is supposed to be fun (and yes it can be crazy fun AND professionally done)

2) Unless you are Big Daddy WarBucks...then you probably aren't actually employing a model every day of every week for them to make a living. So if they are shooting for others it's really none of your business.

3) That would depend on how much you are shooting the same person over and over. And no matter what you do, people have personal lives. They will always have some sort of drama with a lover/boyfriend/husband/wife/girlfriend. That's just normal life and not much you can do about it.

I started shooting content in 1998 when I owned Pure Candy Images content company. I've never had to do any of the things you said to stay in "control" of my set.

Everyone has a different approach to their work. I've always kept things fun and without putting pressure on people and I've been very happy with the resulting content that came from that. The camera knows if people are having fun and feeling natural.

I've also been on sets with directors who were total assholes (I was male talent in the mid 1990's and more recently was on set with Claudia Marie when she has shot for other companies). Believe me, the guys who try to run a set like "Mini-Hitler" are not much fun to work with and the resulting content shows it.

My advice is to be in control of your set in a different way. Instead of trying to be "bossy", just be professional and know your shit.
When people walk onto my set they see my gear, they see the way I know what I'm doing, and it has always resulted in them respecting me.

Respect will get you far more control of a set than trying to hand out a rule book.

You said you've been shooting for 14 years. So that means you should definitely be pretty damn good at it by now. Let your knowledge and experience be the guide for your talent. Believe me, they will sense it.

Remember, this is sex. Yes, it's a business...but it's still sex. Don't put your foot down unless you have to.

I hear ya

To me primers are a few basic guidelines that fit on the front of a notecard, not a rulebook. Primers set the stage for minimal guidelines.

Set dictators are assholes and ruin shoots, that's not what I'm endorsing.

Robbie this isn't exactly true and here's why: one of the boys I used to use 'bothered the girls' and by that I mean hit on them and creeped on them. in fact one model asked if she could stay with us while we wrapped out, until he left, because she was afraid he would follow her home... so his 'private sexual behavior' became my professional issue.

if male talent fucks the girl in the car around the corner I don't give one crappy fuck HOWEVER if someone's personal behaviors becomes an issue on my set, I care. I care ABOUT anything that fucks with my money.

if Christian even knew that the female model was trying to recruit girls off his set to fuck her and her BF etc... it has already reached the 'fucking with my money' point'. other wise why would he even know about it?

Good point Grapesoda. If somebody is stepping over the line and pissing someone else off...then that is definitely when you put your foot down and put a stop to it.

I would simply never use that person again.

I was commenting on what the OP said...that one of his girls had asked other models to party with her and her boyfriend off set.
That sounds pretty harmless to me and just part of adults (especially 2 people who are already having sex on camera) having some banter and making plans for the evening.

But yeah...if you had a guy like you described...well, that guy shouldn't even BE on a porn set or working as a model. You need to eliminate that person right away.

I agree on the surface it does sound like a simple thing, my point is if Christian heard about from a model, it must be an issue. we don't know how it played out because we don't have the info... we both made assumptions.

you assumed it was just a casual 'lets fuck later' and I assumed it was a 'the chick is try to get me to fuck her BF'... either way Christian now has solid information from several experienced shooters...
