All members of the UN signed this, so to go against it now would be not following what was supposed to be the final resolution, it would make the UN a farce.

If the US / UK forcefully disarmed Iraq they would be following the resolution not breaking it as other countries propose
So why don't the US bring this up? Comon dude...

Fact is, Hussein can try whatever he wants, he UN inspectors are there, and if he doesn't cooperate, the UN will attack.

There are multiple steps in resolving a crisis, as there is in entering war.

Step 1: Try to resolve the crisis by diplomatic manners, or adopt UN resolutions to deal with the conflict (in this case, send UN inspectors to disarm Iraq).

Step 2: If step 1 fails, attack them. If it succeed, no need to attack.

Any country who skips step 1 is causing great damage to international right. I am not concerned about the US attacking Iraq, I am concerned with all the other countries that will use this as an excuse to justify a war against another country (china vs pakistan or india, ETC).

America is the greatest power in the world, but with great power comes great resonsibilites. If Hussein is a menace, the UN will agree to attack. One step at a time.

Well Tony you are lucky to live in the US or which ever country you are in, because if you disagreed with Saddam in Iraq you would probarbly be subject to the "systematic widespread abuse and torture inflicted on the people of Iraq by their Government" not my words!

These include acid baths, cutting off of hands and other bits of the body, the most unimaginable painful tortues.

The guy has even killed many members of his family, his brother and he regularly sleeps with women and then personally tortures and kills them.

Obvouisly you have not followed the UN resolutions for the last 10 years idiot, they have tried every route, only trading with Iraq for medicines and aid, and so on.

He blocks the aid and deliberatly starves the people, they all failed.

Agreed, but there's a double standard.

There are many other evil dictators. Why only get rid of Hussein?

If you decide to get rid of evil dictators, get rid of them all, not only this one.

Meanwhile, in North Korea, there's a dictator that ADMITTED having nuclear weapons, and threatened to use them.

Well all the countries sitting at the UN are idiots. They have resolutions that allow them to attack, but suddenly "forgot" about them.

What the fuck will attacking Iraq now will change? There is tremendous pressure right now on the inspections, and if they fail, there will be war.

What more do you want?

Iraq HAS used chemical / bio weap. before and Korea is a future threat, but we have not had 10 years of talks and UN pressure on Korea yet, we have with Iraq, which is deemed the greatest risk / biggest threat the world faces today, if he is allowed to keep collecting this shit, (which the US under UN agreements cannot develop), the risk is that we may have planes and missiles but he could have something of equal power, a nuclear bomb, or chemical weapons, WW3....

From what I understand the US has been very clever and has developed sound weapons which are highly effective, I think we may see these used very soon, the UN have not banned them yet, they include very low frequency vibrations which affect the brain

That's the same as thinking there are terrorists in position to attack but aren't. I don't buy that for a second! If they could nuke DC, NY, and LA tomorrow morning they fucking would.

I in no way think Iraq had anything to do with the Attacks on Sept. 11th. But that still doesn't mean that he is abidding by the 17 UN Resolutions of the last 12 years.

Take out Saddam, and you stabalize the entire region!

We need to be united the whole world over, as many countries as we can to show Iraq that there is only one choice. He feeds on our weakness and Germany, France and other countries are making him more dangerous.

If only we had the strength to show them what happens when innocent people living in a free world, honest decent people are killed.

They would jump to attack us anyway, the only way to stop these terrorist attacks is to stand up to them, and stop them getting arms that Saddam and other countries are making.

No, No, No, this WAS the final resolution of 10 years worth of resolutions, he always dangles a carot for the UN at the last minute which causes a country or 2 to issue another resolution, thats why it's been 10 years....

Are economies are being damaged by the ever looming threat of war, like I said they think this time it would only take weeks, lets get in and get out and get on.

Dealing with N. Korea is slightly more tedious, that is unless you'd like to see S. Korea and Japan hit buy a Nuke.

The Korean conflict was over 50 years ago. They have attacked anyone in the last 12 years.

The difference between N. Korea and Iraq is that Iraq has run out of time. Do you think they won't be dealt with?

Bottom line! Don't deal with Iraq now, we'll have to in due time and he maybe a nuclear power then. Then he could blackmail the world like Kim Jong Ill is doing now.

what an assclown.

Hussein has chemical and biological weapons. They are the biggest threat from terrorists. They are what could kill thousands in the hands of a few terrorists.

If you think that its ok for Hussein to have these weapons, then you believe everything fraqnce says and you are a fool.

Show you proof???

What do you think they are producing this stuff for? the most deadly chemical weapons available, so dangerous that 1mg could kill hundreds of people, in the hands of a man who has used them on more than 1 occasion before and has a passion to hate America, was sept 11th not a warning of how dangerous these people can be and how little regard they have for innocent human life?

All I was saying is that most of the world is against a war with Iraq without concrete evidence, but some countries are affraid to say it, like China, cause they depend on the US for economical reasons.
That is so far from the truth it is insane.

Only The French, Germans, Russia, and China are against this. Oh and Belgium too. Most of the Middle East is behind us.

With France and Germany it's only about oil.

Don't misquote me.

I agree with disarming Iraq. THEY SHOULD BE DISARMED NOW.

I said that many times. All I said is that it must be done right, witht the UN approval, to avoid future crisis.

But for god's sake, DISARM IRAQ.

What turned me off was when all that corporate scandals came and all those poor old people lost their retirement and I waited for him to speak up and he said nothing. My feelings changed that point and maybe thats why I am more judgemental. Here I gave you more ammo have fun lol. I had a shiity day and this has been the most fun I had lol.

Of course, Iraq needs to be disarmed... with or without war, we'll see. Will this make the region more stable? I don't know. The inspectors can't find the weapons. What makes you think they will be found after the war is over? You then might have some local dickheads having control over the weapons...

Well there are 5 veto powers, right?

China, France, Russia are against this war

Who's in minority?

Anyways, if there are proofs that Iraq is fucking with the inspectors, and that the 3 countries against this war don't change their position, I say remove their veto. Untill then...

So what Colin Powell should on the 5th was what? A lie?? Is that what you think?

Also, the French and Germans won't even agree to help a charter member of NATO in Turkey. They are going to tear NATO apart, and it's going to be their fault.

So if it takes weeks to disarm them, let the inspectors do it

The stuff could take ages to find, but a war with Iraq could speel the end of Saddams rule and a turn around of the country, the inspectors cannot disarm Iraq, that has been proven, let the experts go in and do it by force.

No tricks, no pretend officials, no more moving stuff, and the end of Saddam.

Insane? read the post above about the countries with veto powers.

And I'll repeat it for people with short attention span; I am not against or for a war. I am for the disarmement or Iraq.

And you don't think 6 months from now the same people aren't going to crying to give it more time?

You're dreaming - there is no better time than now. - Period.

Ok I see what you mean. It seems like a logical choice if the inspections fails.

What's really funny is that that's ALL that France has. A veto in the UN. And it was a fucking token gesture given to them after they got assfucked by the Germans in WWII.

I tell you this. Many.... MANY people it the US can't comprehend the fact that the French would side with the Germans over the US. And France will rue the day they did too.

I don't have a problem with the US at all, I never said that.

All I am trying to say is that we live in a world where there is an organisation called the "United Nations". We contributed to creating and maintaining this organisation, and we can't just start ignoring it; it would have great consequenses.

Do you understand what I am saying?

I'm not talking about the Joke of a UN. I'm talking about the countries in the world.

The UN is becoming a joke.

You may be right but remember that not all counties have veto powers, I am not sure which do and don't.

And anyway all of these countries have already signed up to 1441 which say's that further seroius action will be used if iraq does not comply, they have not complied, if nothing other than more weapons inspectors being sent in happens then 1441 has been broken by the counties who veto's it not by the US / UK
