They told me that every patent for solar power was owned by oil companies. And the oil companies make sure the price is kept high enough that it isn't feasible for home owners to do it. So if my 1,900 sq. foot home required a system that was $54,000 (the panels were installed on the ground on mechanical stands and followed the sun during the day and charged batteries for the evening...it was completely self contained with no outside elecrtic power neeeded)...then I can only imagine that a solar power system for my much bigger home would be almost TRIPLE the cost. My power bill averages around $500 a month. Or $6,000 a year. So if it cost $150,000 to go solar in my home...it would take 25 years for the solar unit to have paid for itself in savings. No Paul...believe me...I WANT to go solar. Who wouldn't? But the cost is so outrageous that it makes no sense. And that is what I'm saying about our federal govt. They know what the oil companies have done. And yet they don't do anything about it. They would rather have arguments about abortion and contraception and Romney with a dog on the roof of his car and Obama eating a dog....Shit that just isn't very important. But it's very distracting. If I was told that my taxes were being used to actually help poor people, pay for health care, and converting our country to solar energy...then I wouldn't say a word. But if ANY federal dollars are actually being spent on that...it's a TINY fraction. The rest is all funneled back to their cronies at home and mostly pumped into the war machine. Fuck that. |

So what do you suggest Vin? Why does it matter how much the wealthiest people make?
The wealthiest by far is the U.S. govt. And it spends that money faster than it brings it in. Would you like to tax the wealthiest people ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of their money? I saw the math done on CNN a couple of days ago. If you took 100 percent of the top wealthiest people in the U.S. money it would equal 1 trillion dollars. Not even enough to cover this years DEFICIT. And of course that would bankrupt those people so you could only do it once. Why would you want to tax people more money anyway? Other than just being pissed off that they have more than you or I? Or bring it down to our level... Compared to the homeless, drunk, bums all over the streets here in Las Vegas...you have more money than GOD! So how about you come and give them all of YOUR money. At least then it won't be given to politicians and bureacrats to hand over to their cronies back home and to invade other countries and kill people all over the world. What exactly do YOU want to do? Just tax the rich a "little more"? For what? The govt. spends any percentage that you tax them even faster than they can write the check. Come on man...wake up and see that you're being hoodwinked by a giant govt. that is so bloated with bureaucracy that it it unsustainable. |

Yeah, but what is the answer? Is taxing people more gonna help the economy restart? Is it going to slow down the spending that the govt. is doing? Is it gonna stop military spending that is out of control? Is it gonna stop corruption in Washington?
If not...then why are you wanting to tax ANYBODY more money? What is the end game to that? It's not going to help you or I. Its' only gonna go in the pockets of politicians, bureaucrats, and military. |
