Believing in a religious god is no different than believing in aliens or ghosts. All are based on something that can currently not be scientifically proven.

Actually, I take that back. Believing in organized religion may be worse. At least we know there is a real possibility that aliens do exist somewhere. But there is no chance that god exists in the biblical sense. To believe in a book that was written by man is completely naive. The bible, even though it gives people hope, is just as much make believe as a Dr. Seuss book. The same applies to any other organized religion out there who prays to an all encompassing deity, and does so based of off the written word of man.

oh i agree that religious fundamentalists are just as wacked out as people like JohnnyClips but I know a bunch of intelligent people that are pretty devout Roman Catholics and Jews who concede they don't know their beliefs to be true - they have faith that what they believe in is true.
