http://www.ethnicsexlinks.com/ these cats completely ripped off my html for the entrance console (mine used to pop on exit) AND jacked the overall concept & design of onprobation.com (it looks just about the same as my last layout). do these cats think this is actually flattery? what the FUCK? i know webmasters that post right here that have jacked html from my site. whatever happend to originality? hell, i've been in this biz for years & i've borrowed some ideas, put my own spin on'em but GODDAMN! anyone else experience this problem? nuff said... l8r. .. |

Our free sites get ripped all the time, we come up with inovative ways of advertising sponsors and within 7 days I can usually spot a couple of sites using the same ads elsewhere for the same sponsor. they take our designs as well.
Who really cares??? I mean we throw our designs together and we usually take ideas from others and incorperate them into our own designs. Its not a master piece its just some html and its not costing you money if he stole your design in some way. It took me a long time to learn but I finally did. People can do whatever they want with your shit as long as they aren't losing you money. (I'm talking about html, links etc not content) |

Someone owns the patent on "linking", "selling", and "using the internet for anything", so you're already screwed.

I know how you feel. If I had copyrighted my first 1 page website in 2001 I would be a rich man from lawsuits. I have seen over 100 different sites using the exact page. Word for word exactly the same. About 20% of them also used the pics from it that could be 100% proven to be stolen being that I took them myself. Borrowing an overall "idea" is one thing but outright stealing you shit is a crock. You can believe the next big winner I write is going to be copyrighted.

My favorite are the people who copy it and use Word or something to edit it--sometimes I will search and my meta tags still hit off the copied page.
General layout and what-not, well, that is hard to own... I did chuckle the other day though when I saw someone steal the look of my main site down the text graphics that he edited... Every time I tweak my tour or give my styles an overhaul, I do notice huge bumps in sales though. Consider it like this: if someone else copies it, time to come up with another new killer idea to stay ahead of the game. |

opflix, I share your pain!
I started off publishing erotica of counterculture people in print years ago when it was a difficult, really against-the-grain thing to do. I'd have distributors look at a girl with tattoos and assume she must be underage if she looked like that 'cause a grown-up couldn't. Like tattoos wash off. Now there are sites run by people who used to sell my magazines and who have watched me shoot and I'd be happy to have been a creative influence if they gave me props, but instead some of these people will quote verbatim things I said in interviews years ago like they invented them. Most of the sites remotely in my niche cribbed a bunch of the text on their affiliate programs (if they have them) from me. It annoys me when people steal my designs or my photography, but it really really bothers me when people steal my words. Sometimes it makes me afraid to say anything online because it is so easy for someone to just view source, control c, control v, and voila, they get to have an instant personality while biting on me. Grrrr. --Amelia G

![]() side note: i know the guys @ oxcash are REALLY irritated... i've never seen a site layout SO ripped off (bangbus). |

IMHO..
http://www.onprobation.com/sitegm_files/ and http://www.ethnicsexlinks.com/ are not verbatim.... I think we've had these threads in the past.. again.. who made the first tgp... first free site.. first affiliate program... first bangbus... you're right.. you cannot go on to cruise control.. you always need to keep changing and improving... we are launching new members areas on Monday.. along with tons of new promo material.... and I will be the first to admit.. we are not being original offiering promo tools.. etc..etc...etc... but I think we are the first to pay on the cross sell.. which now other companies are doing the same???.. hell who knows. you may take a look at that other persons shit.. and find something they added to improve it...

hee, hee, I wish the copycat sites which ganked my old affiliate program descriptions would leave the sign-up codes intact. That would ease the pain of plagiarism! ![]() --Amelia G
