if you have a dick that works then you at least know what you like and have a fair idea what others would like. Then you work and build, create some failures and some successes and learn as you go (yes thats part of the motivation factor). You find what you can sell and scale it up

The investment required is your time.

i started 2009 completely broke, the only investment being 2 domains and a $4.95 hostgator acct.

I started in this Industry with nothing, had no idea what a webpage was, I had only first seen the Internet a few months before.... I didn't even own the Computer I was using.

Anyone with some drive could walk into this Industry today with zero cash and still make millions. Actually, people are doing it all the time, they just don't find gfy for the first few years.

why limit yourself to just adult? The thing I like about affiliate marketing is how you can go into pretty much whatever market you want to. The flexibility is what makes it so great.

porn had its heyday and while its entirely possible to make it these days, its not necessarily the easiest market to break into.

question for all you adult webmasters. instead of trying to get people to convert on some pay site, why not funnel them to Fling.com or Benaughty?

They have about as much of a chance as they would in most businesses... no hands outs, no real walkthroughs... connections help... and of course a bankroll (if they're not an idiot about what they do with it)

Difference is that you can't really go to school for adult work, but I'm sure most schools offer programs now about webmastering in general, most of which can easily be applied here.

Most will fail, few will succeed. Same as always. Starting off in this business typically isn't a 1 year thing anyway, who's to say what will happen or who will be successful in 3-4 years from now. If a newb is resilient he'll have a chance to succeed.

Why is it that all the people who say a noob only needs $20 to build a online business have no links to their business in their sig?

Also, if you spend all day programming your site and for months then this is part of
you financial investment since you could have spent that time working at
McDonalds for $10 per hour.

Just because you are not paying money out to a programmer does not mean no money
went out. You are out of the money you didn't earn by doing something else besides
programming your site.

Your time is not free unless you are stupid and think your time is not worth anything.

You can buy an adult domain for $8 and monetize it with the adult parking feature here:

Here's a listing I made last year about conversion ratios (raws) from 2000 - 2020 (projected) :

Quote:
- Assuming +25% per year (which seems about right)
- General Adult Traffic (Niched traffic will be about 50% - 80% of these ratios)
- Raw clicks to sponsors

2000- 1:200
2001- 1:250
2002- 1:313
2003- 1:391
2004- 1:488
2005- 1:610
2006- 1:763
2007- 1:954
2008- 1:1,192
2009- 1:1,490
2010- 1:1,863
2011- 1:2,328
2012- 1:2,910
2013- 1:3,638
2014- 1:4,547
2015- 1:5,684
2016- 1:7,105
2017- 1:8,882
2018- 1:11,102
2019- 1:13,878
2020- 1:17,347
Using the data above this one shows how many hits you would have to send assuming all other things are equal to make the same amount as money as you did by sending 1,000 hits in the year 2000.

Quote:
2000- 1,000
2001- 1,250
2002- 1,562
2003- 1,953
2004- 2,441
2005- 3,052
2006- 3,814
2007- 4,768
2008- 5,960
2009- 7,450
2010- 9,313
2011- 11,642
2012- 14,552
2013- 18,190
2014- 22,737
2015- 28,422
2016- 35,527
2017- 44,409
2018- 55,511
2019- 69,389
2020- 86,736
Using this data the projection is that a newbie will need to send 14 times the hits in 2012 to a sponsor as in the year 2000 to make the same amount of money.

You can't really predict the future and it's all just estimates but as I said in the thread https://gfy.com/showthread.php?p=18455257 the past data has been pretty accurate in my experiences as an affiliate.

An affiliate must send more traffic in general now to make it. That makes it harder. According to these numbers take whatever you make now and multiply it by 14. That is about what you would make in general in the year 2000 with the same traffic as you have now. So if you make $100,000 a year now you would have made about 1.4 million in the year 2000 with that same traffic. Pretty staggering.

Another interesting figure. Let's pull it out of our asses that Manwin say makes about $100 million a year with their current traffic (totally made up number, I really don't know). That would mean with the same traffic in 2000 as an estimate they would have made about 1.4 BILLION!!!

Start a service like Groupon but for hard goods. Call it Zoreo. Subscribers get a limited time offer on a bulk item ( i.e. 24 pack of Bounty paper towels ) 500 available, limit 1 per customer - countdown begins.

They get points for what they buy, good as cash, to apply to future purchases. No fee like Costco. Free delivery. Amazon houses the goods. Impulse buying converts

1) I don't really push traffic to 'porn sites' with bad conversion rates and EPC's, other than left over links and supplementary links from freesites I've purchased. Traffic is sifted to my own sites that convert quite well.

2) I'm familiar with Clickbooth - are you saying to push porn traffic to things on Clickbooth? Like what? I have no real knowledge of mainstream sales

Give me something that'll work and I'll gladly signup under your referral and make $$$ with it.

Mainstream isn't any easier than porn... Mainstream just has more things to try. Like porn though, if you know your market/niche, it makes it a lot easier.

Anyway, you could merge various API's together into a paid services, services are easy to advertise too. China has everything and can create or can duplicate, any product - so spin a product, go through the various ad programs and apply to get your product in. Go the review direction, mass build, review everything under the sun, don't stop. Target a local market, like golf, biking, sports, etc.. and build out every twisted possible domain twist you can come up with. Then things like email, sms, social marketing, content networks (youtube), huge list of crap really, is way way way easier in mainstream - and can be setup to be done in masses.

Again.. it's all about what you know, you know porn and make money in it, still a ton of money to be made in porn, any program can make a shit ton more money, just by accepting the fact they have errors...... let alone closing up the money holes.

I think you might know more about adult then others around here. Besides I was replying to fuckyou/payme who evidently has the same ICQ#407361011 as PastorSinAlot , Chronig , Opulence

Plus your back and forth with fuckyou/payme is odd. And I've never heard of any of these profiles before today, other then PastorSinAlot, until I searched GFY for his ICQ very confusing and I need to get back to work.

man.. been in adult for 10 years... failed.

What I was trying to say is that noobs will have a very hard time to get into adult.

If they want to try, welcome.. Let them try it out. But it's not 2002 anymore.

And of course, I work way more in mainstream now, because the action and the money is there now.

Adult is FREE.... Nobody has to pay.

thats what im saying

i fap all day on the free tubes for free. if i want extra, which lets be honest is probably a small % of the fappers , I go to Piratebay

it pains me to see all these people being suckered into believing porn is still a worthwhile market to actually make money in.

i could probably make more with a sudoku puzzle site than porn

This should have it's own topic man. Good on you.

Weren't people saying the same 5 years ago? Heck, when I started lurking here in 2001, some old timers were saying the same thing.

The truth is this: MONEY is no substitute for passion. If you are DRIVEN, FOCUSED, and WILLING TO LEARN and ADAPT on an almost hour to hour basis, there are no LIMITS to your success.

Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor. - Truman Capote

To all the newbs and veterans out there, I salute you for your constant efforts. Keep pushing forward.

I encourage you because I believe that I reap what I sow... I choose to Sow ENCOURAGEMENT and seeds of life.

No shit.
Well, they still can do some money but it's not like it was. And it was like that anyone could begin with gallery/free site submissions or build it's own TGP and withing first month start rolling. Now they need a lot of motivation to get there and earn any money at all.

I set up a website where people would give me 5 cents every time someone here made the profound observation that the current year is not about a decade ago any more. I am now a millionaire.

good post, it has to be worth your time to bother, and even worse if it is bothering with only a longshot chance of that minimum wage

Because this isn't a surfer forum.

Wordpress is free. Newbies do not code anything or know how to code or even write html or most don't create graphics, because none of that is actually needed to make money as an affiliate.

Hosting is free if you ask just about any sponsor, many will even buy you the domain, almost all will host wordpress for you.

I can spend $0 and restart in this Industry a 1000 times over.

You don't even need a website to make money, as an affiliate, in this Industry.

At that, as many people here have said, many times.... they worked, as they built up the porn side, (for extra cash) but once it finally made enough, they quit - which wasn't always the goal. That still happens today, every day...
