The email looks plausible/legit but at the same time it's odd that they don't seem to have provided any contact information; not even an invitation to reply to the email.

Also, OP, if you have any other domains with that contact info you might want to look at getting them fixed. Anyone can make a complaint to ICANN that you have false WHOIS info...

1) - He's 100% in the wrong. The domain is obviously infringing on their trademark
2) - Yahoo is entitled to up to 100,000.00 USD in statutory damages per instance
3) - Yes, its totally normal for IP attorneys to send emails like this being that the domain registrant is required to have correct and current contact information in the domain registrant information
4) - Once they file a lawsuit... which they can do at any time... then what? You have to hire an attorney and respond or risk a default judgement against you, fucking morons.

Get another domain you want to send any PR, link juice to and 301 it for now.

Then send them back a letter stating you are just Joe Shmoe and don't know how all of this works or how using domains work and need more detailed info on how to do said things with your particular registrar because none of what they said seemed to be in your registrars help section...

After 2 months of stalling the link juice should be ready... give them the domain.

That's the way to do it. I got an email from the same service on behalf of eBay and I ignored it. Never heard from them again. I only answer such demands via registered/certified snail mail.

You need to contact a domain register company, speak with a professional. Get as much advice from other companies as you can. You need to hit up Yahoo and make sure the email is legit. If they sent you this warning email, by law you don't have to do anything really. It's only an email warning and they will use that against you in court for failure to comply if the email is legit. I saw you took down flickr-chicks.com already. Hope Yahoo is happy with what they got, i hope they give you some soft of exclusive Yahoo gift for the in convince they caused you over a silly simular domain name you owned.
