It does work, depends on the site. Obviously a general interest or male oriented blog is going to perform better than one aimed at the female market.

Cool. In related news adsense seems to just be showing lots of 75$ free adwords ads on MANY sites I find via serp, kind of lame for the publishers.

As a lead in blog to my main site, and in conjunction with the actual World Cup, I did The World Cup of Porn on wordpress.com. It wasn't monetized at all, but it got a shitload of traffic, was mentioned on a larger mainstream German site, and it definitely served it's purpose.
While it's true that much of the traffic was due to the whole Bobbi Eden Team BJ thing, ie I got lucky, the WCOP carryover traffic still helped me make more money in that first month than I have in any of the 8 or so subsequent months, It wasn't NEARLY as much as I had anticipated, but it was still likely more than most new webmasters make in their first year. And had I been more skilled at things like simple web design, or knowing how to even somewhat properly monetize a website, it would have likely been much more.

Thank you for a good idea! I have a punk blog that I will try dating & porn on now. Adsense did not do so well, guess punks don´t click on adsense ads

Maybe they are more into cams, dating and porn...

I've yet to see any porn website with "Adult Content Warning", do you have an example?

I think what he is referring to in his google traffic is the indicator to look at, the adult warning is just an indicator to him of what happened on blogger

I just believe that in the search engine algorithm there is a difference specifically (maybe a flag of some sort set in the algorithm) that makes google serve results differently based on whether a site is "porn" or "not porn", if you are linking to sites that google considers "porn", then they are less likely to send surfers to you that are searching keywords that google considers "not porn"

I understand your point about aiming towards adults, but there is obviously something more to it from google's perspective, which can be seen in their, safe, moderate, 'unsafe' separations in searching, if you want the benefits of being a mainstream site, then it is not a good idea to put porn banners or links on your mainstream site, that is my belief

i've known people who have mixed it up with little issues, actually the link juice from his sites are stronger than most adult sites and i think it's because of it.

The only thing that doesn't have it's benefits is pure porn lol.

I've yet to see google discount listing with porn ads if the site is targeted towards mainstream topics, like what you'd see on wired.com or cnn.com.

Not my site, I didn't even go past the warning: http://porn.blogspot.com/

So as you can see this is only an issue for blogspot hosted sites.
