Ever go to the bank with a load of checks, then the tellers ask you (to satisfy her own curiosity) what you do?

So I tell that cunt I do websites, so she tells me (or herself?) that she will visit the address I had on the check (medley.com) to check what I do, and she does that with half a smile, really seemed like she already visited an address that was on a different check (much more hardcore).

So I said ok with a smile a left, but it was a bit annoying, who the fuck she thinks she is?

not so simple. i think they tellers have to ask about any suspicious transactions, as do western union etc. at least they do in canada and are advised by the rcmp to do so i think.

and for my bank a bunch of checks from out of the country with weird names that look like they were laser printed qualify as suspicious.

I did state she asked for personal curiosity. She went to high school with my gf so she feels half-comfortable with me. She also rolls her eyes every time she sees me at the bank door because it's a bit more work for her to deal with checks coming from out of the country.

Sometimes they put a 7 day hold on my checks, always depends on the teller. The ones who know me it's never an issue, the days with random old ladies and weird checks, always a hold.

The issue lies in the fact that Chase caps you at $2500 a MONTH that can be deposited through a phone (at least the last time I looked). It's not so convenient for companies or individuals doing higher volumes.

I refuse to use an ATM for several reasons. Tellers will hassle you to cash a $10 check. But I develop a rapport with tellers so I get no hassles. Two tellers, I always asked for $2 bills, gold dollars, 1/2 dollars or silver dollars. They got to know me.
Another teller, I worked for a company and every other day made a deposit for over $100,000. That was at a bank in a poor neighborhood. I was their biggest depositor. She moved to a new bank & remembered me when I went in there one day.
Needless to say, years later those tellers still know me. You won't get an ATM to help you. My girlfriend goes to the bank with no deposit slip, says "deposit or cash it." never gets a problem. Tellers are your friends. develop that friendship.
