You need to ask yourself why you want to go tableless, and really know what you're looking for. Anyone can code a tableless by over using div tags that having no semantic meaning. So before you start hiring people cause you want something "Tableless" know what you need specifically.

I know coder I have working on the project specified it. So that is a pretty solid reason to know why I am asking for it chief.

When one half of the project requires the second half be a certain way... probably a good idea to accommodate him eh toots?

You don't really need this defined do you? There's a post from yesterday on it and a whole lot of conversation about it.. there's a place for tables no doubt but not in layout anymore

Yeah, im gonna have to go ahead and disagree. tables or no tables - no offense to designers, as i have many in my staff ... a website design, regardless if its HTML, CSS, or Scratch and Sniff - is really only 1 thing. A pretty cover to a more often than not crappy book.

Agreed 95%+ designs in CSS are impressive, but only to geeks - the surfer could care less.

Innovation is key! - and CSS is not that with or without tables. At least not anymore, CSS isnt new.

But if the price is right, we can do just a design in CSS, HTML, FLASH, Whatever ... its the why? If your just slapping a cover on the same old shit, everyone has - why bother

Totsie,instead screwing around with designers you can make design with tables first and then convert it to css fully with one program.Works perfectly fine.Tehnicly designer is needed only to do header logo.

I, my team - do allot of our own work, but take large mainstream clients mainly, large development projects - custom 2.0, custom CRM's, online tracking systems, on-the-fly video tagging for production modules, real viable products - things like that.

I'm not telling you this brag, you dont know me. I'm trying to show you I'm not a complete ass clown when it comes to design/dev. I didnt just start playin with a computer last week. 10K+ for a patent done correctly from a specialized patent attorney that can fight for its validity, and defend it aggressively against copycats. YES, i can prove it.

We have been at it since 95-99 collectively amongst the team.

CSS is without question more difficult then just slice/dice design to html, with a CSS reference for use with div's.

I was trying to let you know, that really there isnt a great reason to spend the extra money - perhaps you'll disagree ... about 13-14 years of this (which would make the public beginning in many ways) - says why, why bother? Its not gonna bring any extra appeal or revenue (ouch!) - and it would be more expensive (it takes more time, less people can actually do it, its more difficult).

Designers - good designers, arnt typically code writers. CSS, HTML - while low-end would be code. Sr. Level Graphic Designers are appraised by their skills for principles and application of AI, Photoshop, and Flash (excluding complex actionscript).

Sum it up, can we do it - 100%, no question. Will we do it for pennies - as clearly "affordable" is subjective ... nope. I don't know you man, but I dont see the point in you wasting your money either. That's all.

Not hating on you or your coder, but requiring a special html output for a program isn't worth $1k... if you're paying that for it, it should be easily skinned, it doesn't take much to seperate html from the code and make it so you can use css, or tables.
