First you move there. Then you get permanent residency, then you apply for citizenship. Just like the US.

I don't see why you have to be a citizen to live in Montreal.

Its not so easy anymore even if you marry a canadian.Best bet is to learn french and that will bump your application sooner instead of waiting a year.

I'd prefer Montreal really. It's very beautiful there.

(I'm guessing you didn't know I once lived there, did you?)

Even better for Canada, considering Quebec doesn't want to be part of Canada

We won't have to put up with you in the USA or Canada j/k

Canada doesn't allow dual citizenship with the USA? They do with the UK and the States allows it with the UK and a number of other countries. I would be amazed that they don't allow it with Canada.

It's all about Vancouver baby! Fantastic climate, amazing scenery everywhere, Mountains, Ocean, Beaches, City Life, Camping, Outdoors sports, anything you can think of all within a 10-30 minute drive. Even more if you drive even a little further. Where else can say all that?
If you have a university degree, talk to a lawyer about a TN visa. The nafta one that you get the same day you cross the border.

If you want to move to Montreal and can't speak french, they will kick you out. You have to pass a french exam. Your best bet is to move to Toronto to get your cards.

It depends whether or not you would like to be a contributing member of society or not.

If you are planning to just come here and work and make a good and honest life you will likely be put on a waiting list for the next 2 years while they process your paperwork.

If on the other hand you can get off a plane from any number of countries that don't speak either English or French and you can be rushed to the hospital to deliver your now canadian child then I believe the process to get your health card is just about immediate. LoL
