So some time ago I bought VANILLATGP.com license and ...

Guy?s, this script is great and believe me I know what I'm talking about.
Also I never saw that kind of support in my life.

To give you some idea, I missed a few features especially to use the script for text TGP?s and within a week they added them all. Not only added, but also perfectly integrated. I was like huh?

About the script, well what can I say? It's fantastic.
For sure vanillatgp is a script I can recommend.

Do more people have this vanillatgp script already here? And more what?s your opinion?

Discuss

I believe it came from 500 euro (around $600)

It's a cool promo stunt for people to grab a lincense.

I have nothing to do with vanillatgp whatsoever besides the fact that the script is one of the best around and that I bought a license.

Vanillatgp is underestimated. And I just started this thread to see what others think about it. Make a search on this or any other boards and you will find thousand of posts about other scripts.

So at least we can discuss about this one as well isn't it?

Well I was going to use it but my server manager had this to say about it when we was trying to get it setup on our server.

Who is your guy who built the script? Do you know how dangerous it is
to allow access for wget thru apache?

What is the script? Maybe tell him to make a better secure script?
This is not a good idea.

I would use it but until it's a better secure script forget it. Definitely has some nice features.

Sorry georgeyw with all respect, but that's a stupid reply. The 0% skim version is the main version ($399). All versions with skim are for those who don?t have a problem with a small skim in order to pay a little less. A 2% skimmed version is completely free.

Like I said in our e-mail conversation, allow Apache to use wget is not dangerous. Using opensource scripts like phpbb is dangerous, because they often have exploits that allows scriptkiddies to use wget through apache. So as long as you stay away from scripts that often have exploits (mostly opensource scripts) you do not have much to worry about regarding wget.
By the way, comus uses wget as well, as well as many other scripts.

Oh don't get me wrong I like the script has some awesome features but my server manager adviced me not to use your script for that reason. Would love to use it but I going to take the advice from my server manager and not use the script. We pay to have our server managed and if they say it's not a good idea then I am going to go with what they tell me.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of TGP scripts that use wget, comus, aptgp.. it's not a problem..

I know other scripts use wget and we don't have a problem with there scripts but for some reason we have problems with vanillatgp using wget. Maybe it's the way the script uses it. I'm not sure but when my server manager tells me this is not a good idea then I am going to go with what he tells me.
