Judge says that although he considers bloggers journalists they do not have the same constitutional right to protect the identities of its sources as traditional media organizations. Depending on the final outcome/appeal of this ruling this could have a chilling effect on many investigative blogs

Think outside the porn world. Bloggers have been responsible for bringing many stories to light in the past couple years that might have gone unreported.

Maybe it isn't a matter of not interested, perhaps it is more an issue of not being relevant to any of the blogs we run.

As I make up most of the stuff on my blog, I know it isn't relevant to me.

BTW, the link above is about a 2nd ruling within one week that judges have made against bloggers.

I dont think blogs should be used as a news source, unless its affiliated to a known news source. How would we know which blog is telling the truth, over-reporting, or under-reporting a story... Illegitimate blogs should stay out factual news stories.
