Is it true what many say about mainstream?

Is it really much harder to make money in mainstream? Most of the people I talk to say its way tougher in the mainstream scene. But if you hit it you will hit it much bigger. True or False?

There's so many ways to make money in mainstream. There are so many levels of implementation. From e-commerce to middleman to publisher and all points in between.

If you are used to making money in adult via tubes or tgps or other forms of the CONTENT PUBLISHING model, try building informational sites and collecting emails. Funnel these emails through offers you send to your large "unfiltered" list-get them to sign to more tightly focused and sales oriented lists. The end goal is to have a PURE list of buyers you send updates to.

If you need help setting these up or if you need traffic ideas, just SKYPE me: marketingcopyexpert

When starting little bit of a learning curve on the advertising end as all I knew was adult. All my friends sites were adult. So easier for me to throw up an adult site and have thousands of quality hits instantly where in mainstream who did I know with mainstream sites not many so no advantage on getting something going. One of my mainstream sites is on the back of my car in perforated vinyl, promotional pens, etc... so advertising mainstream shit is kinda an open field where porn has it's advertising limitations. Would say whether adult or mainstream pick a category you have an interest in so it's not so much work and the money will flow later, starting something just to go mainstream with no interest in the topic and you will generally lose interest and abandon it. I think everyone in adult should diversify and try at least 1 mainstream project, I have failed at a few projects but failure is just a step in succeeding if you have the discipline to stay the course.

There are many ways that you can do mainstream affiliate marketing.

One way that I do it that makes decent money is to do keyword research on broad merchandise terms like hookahs, ecigs, airsoft, ink/toner etc. then do more research on categories of those products as well as individual product names/types. This can be time consuming but very worthwhile when finding products to promote.

Then I just blog the same way that I blog with adult blogs except instead of linking from a naked girl pic to a FHG or tour, I link to the buy it now page of the company that I'm promoting. cj.com and Amazon are great for these types of blogs.

Look at hookahsonline.com. It's very simple but I make at least 2 sales every single day on that one, and that's on a bad day..

But that's just scratching the surface of mainstream and other people's methods are completely different

Going mainstream I always though traffic was king like in adult.

Mainstream traffic has to be niche and surgical to convert but less of it.

Mainstream is 10x harder than adult IMO. Took me a few years to get my shit right in mainstream. Adult was easier by far.

Mainstream requires more targeted traffic, persuasive copy, split testing etc. Adult has the benefit of selling a hypnotic product that sells itself

Remember: the only ones who call anything other than adult "mainstream" are porn people...

adult = porn and mainstream = everything else

think of "mainstream" as a huge, wide variety of niches...

Agreed, traffic is so much harder to get. You really need to go after SEO traffic when your doing mainstream or buy ads on other sites. The conversions with mainstream are way better than any I have ever reached in porn.

There is a site I used to visit often for ways to make money in mainstream. Infact, I used to get these deals via email called wsooffers or something. What a big crock of crap those were. I wish I didn't waste my time on that site and all the 6 figure blueprint bullshit. I finally learned that most ppl selling MMO and IM techniques are doing so because they can't make money on the Internet any other way. That being said, I'm determined to be different than them I hope!

Porn is the shark tank of the internet.. If you made a decent living in this business everything else is a cake walk .. You just need to adjust to a slightly different set of rules and mind set.

It's kind of illogical to categorize making money online as: ADULT vs MAINSTREAM.

There's making money online, and adult is just a small percentage of the pie. It's all equivalent in the sense that you can make a living.

So when you create that polarization in your mind that you have to stick with either/or, you're limiting your potential.

People visit your website, and they purchase something, or they view your pages and click ads. That's it. It's just a matter of choosing your industry whether it be adult, health, finance, dating, etc..

Is it harder to make a buck in adult vs. the other industries? I don't know, but I'd say it's relative to your ability to research and spot opportunities within the niches of each industry and execute.

That's WRONG...

Nowadays it's much easier to make money in mainstream.

If I'm surviving in online marketing is because of mainstream, if I was only living off adult, I would have quit long ago...

I don't like SPAMMING or SCAMMING people with WEBCAMS/DATING/EWHORING SHIT like HALF of this forums does... so my only income in adult comes off paysites memberships.

But 80% of my ONLINE income comes off MAINSTREAM... The money and the action right now is in mainstream.

You can't be so naive to ignore that most adult webmaster forums DIED or DRAMATICALLY SLOWED down during the last few years, when IN FACT the INTERNET POPULATION duplicated... So, why do most adult FORUMS DIED? Easy, because most people just quit ADULT... (yeah, add a GENIUS caption to this phrase)

Half of the world population spend his day on facebook or other socialnetworks, if you cant MONETIZE that and take advantage of that oportunity, in mainstream, you are losing a lot of money, seriously... You are losing the oportunity to sell something to half of the world INTERNET population.

Just my two cents.

Since we are talking mainstream I figured I'd ask...anyone actually made a decent chunk of change with any methods sold out there? Or are they just bullshit? I came across something called googlesniper v2 or something and was curious about these types of programs.

I don't know about these systems. I'm skeptical that they actually work. Any one killed it with these? And not selling them. I mean using them.

I am for sure. I have yet to find one that I'd be willing to buy. Most of the so called "cash blueprints" are between $9-47 and everyone rants and raves about how so and so did it again and built an amazing program. It's almost as if they are all selling IM products patting each other on the back when none have probably made money online other than selling these bullshit methods.

Truthfully, if I had a method that worked I wouldn't sell it. I'd do it and share it wih close friends and partners. That's it. Nothing more nothing less. I just don't believe em!

Furthermore, adult or mainstream, I'd bet the ones making big bucks are wasting time posting links and blueprint how they made hundreds off thousands and millions. They are probably continuing to do it quietly instead. At least I would be doing it that way. Instead I have to make very little for now!!!

never used anything like that. never promoted any snake oils...

never used a FAKE TEMPLATE with FAKE COMMENTS for a site with a muscular asian guy going from FAT to FIT.. That's all bullshit and SCAMS.

You need to go for the long term honest and serious business in mainstream, and build honest relationships with marketings companies and make lots of money...

BTW, Are you still doing any money in ADULT? Promoting what? Paysites with BLOGS?... or SCAM WEBCAMS + Ewhoring-DATING?

Just askin...

Agreed! There is one guy who's book I bought on that and it was TruthAboutAbs. He does 40k a month net he said in an interview. That is a quality book with lots of info for an info product. But as far as get rich and make mega sales IM ebooks etc they have all been shit IMO. I want to make a real high value long term product and brand eventually that is sustainable. That's the goal with mainstream for me. I would love 40k a month..who wouldn't tho!

This is how to make it big in mainstream, in three simple steps:

1. Research the most popular stuff that everyone else is promoting.
2. Promote something else.
3. Profit!
