![]() Congressional Republicans unveiled a plan on Monday that they said would hurt the nation?s economy, benefit the wealthy at the expense of the middle class and add billions to the national debt.
The move is a continuation of Republican policies during the Bush administration and part of a plan they hope will lead to rising voter dissatisfaction and Republican gains at the ballot box. ?Remember how we racked up huge deficits during the Bush years, gave billions to the wealthy and let the middle class fall behind? Well, you ain?t seen nothin? yet,? House Minority Leader John Boehner (R- Ohio) said. ?We?re going to drive those unemployment and deficit numbers up so high that the American people will be voting Republican until they realize we screwed them over once again.? continues here... http://www.thechicagodope.com/2010/0...economy-plan?/ |

Solid reporting from a very credible news source and posted here by the most partisan person on these boards. Some day you will realize that your dream party is just as fucked up as everyone else in DC. All of them suck!

I do find it amazing that the democrats are running around saying that it's all the republicans fault for coming up with three plans on paper PLUS a budget, all of which the Dems shot down. The Dems say that this is will the end of the world and it's a total catastrophe, so meanwhile.... WHERE IS THE DEMS PLAN ON PAPER??? Seems to me that the only ones playing politics here are the democrats. They want the republicans to change the republican plans rather than put forward their own so that they can blame the republicans for anything that isn't popular, rather than stand up behind putting their own plan on paper in order to "save the country". Its bizarre that no one seems to notice this
Sorry, typing fast on my iPhone so there may be typos

The boston tea party was a revolt against a government in a far off land imposing economic slavery on the states.
The current tea party is just doing the same thing. When nothing can pass out of the house, it will choke the beast that is unbridled government spending. |

as far as im concerned, if your not with the tea party, you are with the multinational corporations & wall street banks & foreign governments & dark markets who are slowly enslaving the USA under a pile of debt that will never get paid off.
This vampire squid has already ransacked the american consumer, state & local governments, transportation authorities, sports teams, & corporations purchased under LBOs. The squid should have died in september 08, but the government revived it & now its bigger then ever. Anything that kills the wall street banks is an improvement for america. Viva la revolutione! |

2 years or all, that makes no difference, it's projected to an equal time period, and we already know what it's costing, and even if we doubled it, it would still fall short. Are you trying to say Obama has out spent Bush? Because that is simply impossible. It's rather simple really, it represents the cost (or projected costs) of the policies each President actually started. Not really much to mislead here. And are you serious? The chart shows the stimulus and final bailout together, look at it! You're being silly here, nothing to disprove with that, even if they're off, it's not 3x the amount.

How about some reality... The Tea Party Movement gained national attention in the summer of 2009 when organized protests occurred at Congressional "town hall" meetings that discussed healthcare reform. While promoted as a spontaneous "grassroots" movement, many of the activities of Tea Party groups were organized by corporate lobbying groups. In an article in the August 30, 2010 issue of The New Yorker magazine, author Jane Mayer links the billionaire brothers David Koch and Charles Koch, owners of Koch Industries to tea party movement funding. Mayer writes, The anti-government fervor infusing the 2010 elections represents a political triumph for the Kochs. By giving money to ?educate,? fund, and organize Tea Party protesters, they have helped turn their private agenda into a mass movement. Bruce Bartlett, a conservative economist and a historian, who once worked at the National Center for Policy Analysis, a Dallas-based think tank that the Kochs fund, said, ?The problem with the whole libertarian movement is that it?s been all chiefs and no Indians. There haven?t been any actual people, like voters, who give a crap about it. So the problem for the Kochs has been trying to create a movement.? With the emergence of the Tea Party, he said, ?everyone suddenly sees that for the first time there are Indians out there?people who can provide real ideological power.? The Kochs, he said, are ?trying to shape and control and channel the populist uprising into their own policies. Perhaps, but I like to take on what I consider a "cleaner" view on the matter of Republicans v. Democrats. I don't contest that both parties are flawed. I am certain that one party is drastically more flawed than the other, which is the Republicans of coarse. The comparison between the two groups is ancient. One group of people has a kind heart, humility, common sense, very genuine, with morals, concern over their function in life and the greater good of mankind, open to change. D. While the other group is snide, ignorant, apathetic, weak, yellow bellied, egotistical, arrogant, prideful, and absolutely selfish.. Plays to all the weak characteristics of man in typical fashion. R. It's the same reason why people get into fights. Because there is always one dumb cunt motherfucker who you disagree with and are absolutely against down to the very fiber of being. You could be either person depending on where you are in life. If you are more mature and enlightened, you will most likely heir on the side of the Democrats.

The tea party exists for the sole reason because there is a black man in the white house. I'm a white guy in my 40's and every person that I personally know that agrees with the tea party is a racist prick, some will openly admit it, others deny it while during the elections would say 'no way do I want a ni***r as president'. These are the same people that went on about his birth certificate, called him a terrorist, and supported Bush while he ran up deficits.

Correct, Obama has made no new war policies that have cost us new money that we didn't already have being spent.

First national protests On February 19, 2009, in a broadcast from the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, CNBC Business News editor Rick Santelli criticized the government plan to refinance mortgages, which had just been announced the day before. He said that those plans were "promoting bad behavior" by "subsidizing losers' mortgages". He suggested holding a tea party for traders to gather and dump the derivatives in the Chicago River on July 1. A number of the floor traders around him cheered on his proposal, to the amusement of the hosts in the studio. Santelli's "rant" became a viral video after being featured on the Drudge Report. In response to Santelli, websites such as ChicagoTeaParty.com (registered in August 2008 by Chicago radio producer Zack Christenson) were live within 12 hours. About 10 hours after Santelli's remarks, reTeaParty.com was bought to coordinate Tea Parties scheduled for Independence Day and, as of March 4, was reported to be receiving 11,000 visitors a day. According to The New Yorker writer Ben McGrath and New York Times reporter Kate Zernike, this is where the movement was first inspired to coalesce under the collective banner of "Tea Party". By the next day, guests on Fox News had already begun to mention this new "Tea Party". As reported by The Huffington Post, a Facebook page was developed on February 20 calling for Tea Party protests across the country. Soon, the "Nationwide Chicago Tea Party" protest was coordinated across over 40 different cities for February 27, 2009, thus establishing the first national modern Tea Party protest. The movement has been supported nationally by at least 12 prominent individuals and their associated organizations. (as you can see, the koch brothers are 1 of 12 different sources of support...) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_Par...ional_protests |

And as far as Dems having no plan Obama wanted to cut over 4 trillion and put ss and medicare on the table. They ran like bitches. also two of those wars started during bush. No president ever had this bullshit with raising the debt ceiling. but in true chickenshit right wing behavior they will take no responsibly for their actions and blame obama. I want the right to win it all and I want them all to be hard right because people in the middle class that support these people need a wake up call and maybe then we can have a real progressive not republican lite which is what we have now with Barry the spineless. |

What a great job of reporting by Mark Ames and Yasha Levine of Playboy: Last week, CNBC correspondent Rick Santelli rocketed from being a little-known second-string correspondent to a populist hero of the disenfranchised, a 21st-century Samuel Adams, the leader and symbol of the downtrodden American masses suffering under the onslaught of 21st century socialism and big government. Santelli’s “rant” last-week calling for a “Chicago Tea Party” to protest President Obama’s plans to help distressed American homeowners rapidly spread across the blogosphere and shot right up into White House spokesman Robert Gibbs’ craw, whose smackdown during a press conference was later characterized by Santelli as “a threat” from the White House. A nationwide “tea party” grassroots Internet protest movement has sprung up seemingly spontaneously, all inspired by Santelli, with rallies planned today in cities from coast to coast to protest against Obama’s economic policies. What we discovered is that Santelli’s “rant” was not at all spontaneous as his alleged fans claim, but rather it was a carefully-planned trigger for the anti-Obama campaign. In PR terms, his February 19th call for a “Chicago Tea Party” was the launch event of a carefully organized and sophisticated PR campaign, one in which Santelli served as a frontman, using the CNBC airwaves for publicity, for the some of the craziest and sleaziest rightwing oligarch clans this country has ever produced. Namely, the Koch family, the multibilllionaire owners of the largest private corporation in America, and funders of scores of rightwing thinktanks and advocacy groups, from the Cato Institute and Reason Magazine to FreedomWorks. The scion of the Koch family, Fred Koch, was a co-founder of the notorious extremist-rightwing John Birch Society. As you read this, Big Business is pouring tens of millions of dollars into their media machines in order to destroy just about every economic campaign promise Obama has made, as reported recently in the Wall Street Journal. At stake isn’t the little guy’s fight against big government, as Santelli and his bot-supporters claim, but rather the “upper 2 percent”’s war to protect their wealth from the Obama Adminstration’s economic plans. When this Santelli “grassroots” campaign is peeled open, what’s revealed is a glimpse of what is ahead and what is bound to be a hallmark of his presidency. |

Facts mean I'm talking like a politician?
If anything, your continual twisting of what the graph actually means is far more like a politician.

HAHA clearly people choose whatever liberal blog supports their view the tea party is NOTHING but a mouthpiece for the koch bros. When in fact wiki sources its information & links to a site describing 12 different orgazations that supported the tea party. But you all just cling to the blanket you feel cozy with.
I know that 85% of the creation of the tea party is due to the fox news channel. That does not take away from the fact that the movement did in fact get people to show up. & that people actually got elected under the banner of the tea party. Its takes deep pockets to fund a movement, even if those interests are more narrow/selfish then the agenda of the underlying party. Bottom line is that the liberals & their union thugs (along with wall street) conspire to enrich themselves on the credit card of america. The tea party is the revolution. |

last, a government that depends on borrowing 150 billion/month in order to meet obligations is destined to self destruct. It can self destruct now with a default, or self destruct when the debt is 25 trillion instead of 14 trillion.
pushing to increase the debt limit is nothing but kicking the can down the road. Sadly, both parties are putting out proposals that barely begin to tackle the deficit. The pols expect the economy to magically recover from their own globalist policies that killed the middle class. The economy deserves a train wreck. its prospect for growth is now dependent on government spending to maintain the economy, instead of actually growing business. A handful of multinationals are growing. They grow overseas business & jobs while firing US workers. the rest of the economy is teetering along, 110% leveraged out by wall street. The street now owns all of america & we work to support wall street instead of the other way around. All you people supporting this form of corporate enslavment, you are the establishment thinkers, protecting the Matrix lest you get unplugged. Fuck em, kill the matrix & let it all crash. Default baby, default. ![]() |
