Most important pictures ever?
 

I'll start, but was wondering what some of you thought are the most important pictures ever taken. Please no ******* or anus dude.

that one is truly a good one, I have it printed in my retina.

That one of the little girl running down the street after getting hit by napalm in Vietnam is a pretty good one.

The Tienanmen square one really gets to me. The symbolism is just amazing. One man standing against an oppressive country.

The first picture of earth taken by a man in space.

The guys raising the flag 0n 9/11

I never did see that one before. That is so heartbreaking. Poor guy obviously saw a lot of devastation in his life and could not live with it.

heard some story that the guy being executed severly had it coming.. and with the impact of this picture, it turned the executioners life completely around.. for the worse

True-ish. It wasn't his only problem. Kevin Carter's suicide note:

"I am depressed ... without phone ... money for rent ... money for child support ... money for debts ... money!!! ... I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings and corpses and anger and pain ... of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen, often police, of killer executioners...I have gone to join Ken if I am that lucky."

The Ken in question is Ken_Oosterbroek, a friend and fellow South African journalist killed earlier that year (1994).

As is this... reguardless of whether he 'severely had it coming' or not... a fucked up pic, I believe there's a video of the execution as well.

Also - The NASA pic of Challenger blowing up, my great grandparents were there in the stands. I've got real life 4x6's. And I'm pretty sure I've got the NatGeo of the Paki(?) refugee girl w/ the eyes also. They found her in real life btw via retina scan - married to some woman beater piece of shit in some slum.

I can't remember the exact true story for this pic, but I do know that there has been LOADS of misinformation regarding the actual events in many different forms over the years.

I remember seeing the photo a few years ago. Absolutely the worst thing i've ever seen.

I also remember reading about the photographer and his suicide. The guy has seen so much fucked up shit in the world that he simply couldn't deal anymore. I can imagine..i mean if i spent years photographing shots of 'the worst the world has to offer' like the above, i'd be impossible to be sane or find joy in anything.

How could you come home and expect to live a normal life after shit like that.

They found her a few years ago. Aged 10 or 20 years and she looked 70. Shame, she was pretty hot. Amazing eyes.

I'm pretty sure we watched that live in school.

I believe this guy was the inspiration for a character in a weird ass book called House of Leaves.
