Some shocking, some sad, some wonderfull, some beautifull.
The one with the starving kid and the vulture is the most grabbing one and it shows us nature is very real and could be cruel.

That's the point, beautiful, shocking, sad, etc. Lets see them and all have a reaction.

I think Zidane's headbutt was more of a shocking act. Especially considering the cost of his actions to the team.

Powerful images, art, music, literature should change you a bit, make you think, make you laugh, makes you cry. It's what makes them important. They provide an emotional response.

I live in Oklahoma so this pic really gets me.
Oklahoma City firefighter Chris Fields carrying Baylee Almon after the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building by Timothy McVeigh on April 19, 1995.

This photo won the Pulitzer Prize.

A girl I dated and took to my high school prom lost her two young sons in the explosion and finding that out made this pic hit home even more.

Great thread, the pictures of African children are strong, very strong.

I can relate to the photographer that committed suicide... just from my brief travels around the third world I've seen stuff that I wish I hadn't... can't even imagine what it must be like for someone like that who made a living hunting down the very worst of human suffering.

How could you come home and expect to live a normal life after shit like that.

Sometimes putting it all into perspective gives you more to appreciate in life. Everyone, however, handles stress differently. :2 cents:
