Is Marijuana More Dangerous Than Alcohol???
http://chroniccorner.net/2008/Februa...-Alcohol-2.htm
please explain to me why we pay massive amounts of money to fight a losing battle against a plant from the earth and not a horrific drug like alcohol. Im baffled. |
more ganja smokers, less cigarette smokers and less drinkers. those 2 want the only vices.
|
Another reason to twist one up
|
I smoke weed and conduct business.

Alcohol causes permanent brain damage if crank every day, but marijuana does not cause brain damage if drank everyday
|
Should be 100% legalized for 18 and over at worst 21 and over period. Dont need to be wasting resources chasing it down, and arresting people over it. Tis silly.
|
I think if pot was produced under uniform conditions it would be much much safer.

You realize (if youre not too damn stoned) that alcohol comes from earth as well right? Fucking stoner idiots bs. |
they can't decriminalise marijuana, what would all those fat DEA cops do with their time?

alcohol is man made, weed is god made. SMOKE WEED! fuck you anti marijuana faggots

Granted, it generally tastes a lot better when its creation is directed by man... but marijuana is typically a lot better when it's nurtured by man, as well... or... so they tell me. :winkwink: |

I've never smoked alcohol, so it's hard to compare the two - although I did swallow some bong water once, and it pretty much sucked... :stoned
ADG |
Alcohol is being commercialized without telling people that it's more lethal than Marijuana...

And not without a reason. Weed is a very fucking strong drug which can completely fuck you up which can be a danger to yourself and others |

Why do weed junkies always feel so special. As i mentioned in another thread last week being addicted to drugs is nothing to brag about you know. And the only junkies who do that are weed junkies for some reason.
|
I smoke . I handle my biz. A little forgetful but things get done some how

Screw the lobbyist excuse, screw the tax excuse. Neither are even inside the picture frame. The excuse of politics can come into play more so when Nixon hit office but that is much latter in the history of drugs and alcohol.
History shows that alcohol was made illegal well before marijuana, cocaine, heroin, opium, morphine, and well just about everything else. This was also done via a constitutional amendment since that was the only legal way to ban something as the Government itself at that time did not interfere with states rights, where prohibited to by the constitution, and really did not want to. For awhile the economy was going great shit was flowing into the docks and the migrant and black dock workers were being paid, out west crops were doing well along with constructions and we as a country were begging Mexico to send more workers. (this is a short story) Boom - economy collapses. Dock workers were often given or encouraged to use cocaine as it increased productivity and hours worked. Well the blacks were taking up jobs honest white folks could have yet never wanted before aside from the other migrants. Target enabled - cocaine. Eventually taxation and prevention of it being allowed in mail order remedies. Though for awhile whites could still get it via doctors. This one was race related with the economy as an excuse. Out west they also needed these damn labor stealing Mexicans that we as a country couldn't import enough of out of our country ASAP. Low and behold it was shown that they rather enjoyed smoking the marijuana plant. Now nobody wanted to go after a damn weed that was growing everywhere so they (the Government fought hard saying state rights, states begged otherwise). Eventually when the FBI found out that Hearst was very anti drugs he went gung ho on fighting marijuana and deporting Mexicans. It boiled down both time to race issues and the economy. Eventually Nixon will use it as a political weapon after he learns that many of his protesters and college aged enemies used drugs. It was near impossible to stop freedom of speech but you can lock up a drug user. As a historical side note since we did mention lobbyist. When the short meeting occurred about making it illegal only one industry objected and they maintained their rights. The fabric industry now had other fabrics so they did not care, paper industry was fine, the paint industry had other oils they could easily substitute for, but alas the bird seed companies said no other seeds gave birds feathers such a shine and they got their exemptions no questions asked. Hell this really is to long of a topic. |

1. any of a class of substances that blunt the senses, as opium, morphine, belladonna, and alcohol, that in large quantities produce euphoria, stupor, or coma, that when used constantly can cause habituation or addiction, and that are used in medicine to relieve pain, cause sedation, and induce sleep. 2. anything that exercises a soothing or numbing effect or influence: Television is a narcotic for many people. |

Wtf is TV?
Anyway you are saying Weed (or technically THC) is not a narcotic? Are you serious? Do you also grow a beard where your brain used to be or what? |
I am thinking of switching to Pot from cigarettes. While the later do cause cancer there are no substancial proof that the former causes it too. Besides it gives more high. Only thing that is required is you have to take adequate nutrition if you smoke pot in a regular basis.
|
Shitdog, where are you? What is TV? Serious question.

i do believe that according to the FDA, it is a narcotic... and incredibly in the same classification as cocaine and heroin! class 1
that is technically speaking, realistically it should not be considered anything close to a narcotic. it is more of an intoxicant either way, weed is not really harmful except to maybe the lungs and throats unless you are using a vaoprizor |

Alcohol is way worse than Marijiuana.
Worse you can get with Marijuana is become paranoid, schyzo or do nothing all day and get some kinds of cancer because you smoke. Alcohol = just drinking and driving causes a lot of deaths. Also fights in bar are mostly fueled by it. |

Tylenol is a powerful pain killer, but we don't compare it to Morphine for a reason. |

They did not put me in charge of drug classifications, so what I say really doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is that weed, acid, meth, and coke are not narcotics, by definition. |
Quote:
Give someone 2 lines of coke and most people will hardly notice it but let someone puff twice from a joint and most of them will be fucked up for 2 hours. Im not talking about how dangerous or addictive it is here. Just how strong it is and how it makes you feel. |
true story, I wrote my final paper in English 102 comparing Marijuana to Alcohol and not only did I get an A but the teacher laughed when he saw the title - "Why can't we all get a bong?"
Alcohol is the single most physically destructive drug there is (except for maybe Meth, more research is needed) Nicotine is the single most addictive drug Both are legal, so do you think the government actually gives a fuck about your well being? |

If you sit around smoking joints and doing coke at the same time, you think you'll end up feeling stoned from the weed or high from the coke? I mean I agree with you that it's amazingly stupid to think of any drug as a miracle substance. Marijuana does have some pain killing and other medical uses, but then so does Opium. We don't sit around and say that Heroine is a miracle drug though. Sitting around using any drug recreationally is going to have a negative effect, most likely, on your life. It won't to everyone, and especially not to people that act responsibly. I mean, not every guy that likes to have a beer on the weekend is going to turn in to a raging wife beating alcoholic. Neither is everyone that smokes weed going to be a sit around do nothing pot head. I still think you can't compare Marijuana to Cocaine or Heroin though, they're not in the same league. Especially if you exclude Alcohol from that grouping for any reason. |
