This Kerry quote deal is getting absurd...

Honestly I don't like republicans OR democrats much, but the shit republicans are pulling over an obviously mis-worded quote by kerry is disgusting...

what is really scary is republicans *know* the thought process of the public.. and that tells me that if they actually think they can convince the public that kerry was referring to the troops as being uneducated and stupid, rather than the bush administration (which is what he meant), that tells me the public must be stupid as fuck.

I'm watching Bush bash Kerry in GA live on Pipeline, the crowd is going wild and loving it...

wdsguy 10-31-2006 03:46 PM

They just want to deviate attention away from the fucked up situation they got themselves into in Iraq.

I think both sides are idiots too, but that quote does seem kind of bad.

Never fumble something you meant to say?

He has already explained himself and I applaud him for standing up to the bully tactics... Now if the rest of the Senate/Congress both Democrats and Republican would do the same things might get a little bit better.

~Ray 10-31-2006 03:53 PM

are you a democrat?

spunkmaster 10-31-2006 03:54 PM

Kerry stepped in a big pile of shit.

Unemployment is 2.6% which means most of the troops in Iraq are "NOT" there because they couldn't get a better paying job !

It would be hard to get a lower paying job. :2 cents:

Matt 26z 10-31-2006 03:57 PM

Kerry just needs to keep his mouth shut from now on. NOTHING good has come to the Democrats from Kerry. He totally blew 2004, and now this.

I'm starting to think that maybe the Republicans are going to retain power in the House and the Senate. Their voters are going to be out there.

What it really tells you is the public will watch the edited/sound bites and base decisions on inaccurate data.

mikeyddddd 10-31-2006 03:59 PM

The current GOP leadership is the dirtiest bunch of crooks and liars since Nixon.

Michael O 10-31-2006 04:00 PM

There is a guy (D) running for office somewhere and he was in a hotel and was calling the department of corrections which had a phone number that was one number of from the sex line by mistake he called the sexline and hung up after a few secs when he realized he called the wrong number.
But that didn't discourage the Republicans from running ads saying he used taxpayers money to call sexlines :/

pocketkangaroo 10-31-2006 04:00 PM

Kerry is a moron, just like most of the Democrats. Seriously, if they can't win this election, they should just pack up and start a new party. We have some of the most incompetent and corrupt Republicans in the history of our nation and the Democrats can't even seem to beat them.

As well as their most important strategy... rigging the election through fraud and manipulation.

The totally shitty thing is that the same phone record they used to "prove he called a sex line with taxpayer money" also showed that he did iin fact dial the correct number a few seconds later.:disgust

I've never doubted it for one moment. I will be floored if they don't.

KRL 10-31-2006 04:56 PM

I don't particularly care for either party. They both have their good and bad sides.

We need to get rid of this 2 party baloney and reinvent the political system. The whole thing is outdated and a load of crap.

Politicians become too entrenched in powerful positions for too much time and get arrogant and corrupt.

DaddyHalbucks 10-31-2006 05:10 PM

The two party political system is broken. They waste too much energy battling each other instead of our real enemies.

DaddyHalbucks 10-31-2006 05:12 PM

Back during Lewinskygate, James Carville insulted all people in trailer parks. The Democratic party is the party of the people? Hahahaha.

ronbotx 10-31-2006 05:21 PM

This despicable loser, D-student, and gigolo who supports himself by marrying rich women has insulted and falsely accused and insulted our troops starting with the Vietnam war. Todays statement is nothing new and is not an isolated incident.

He has a contempt for our military, and has always been a cheerleader for the other side.

Perhaps if he had studied a little harder in college, he wouldn't be making such moronic and indefensible statements.

studiocritic 10-31-2006 05:23 PM

The Democrats have painted themselves into a corner by portraying their position as one that finds Bush to be the greater evil than Al Qaeda.

The American public, in general, are sheep. They need herding, and to feel secure. The republicans give this to them. The feeling of security. Meanwhile, the Democrats have made it fairly clear that their priorities are with global warming, pollution control, etc. - not with terrorism. While these are noble causes that warrant attention, they do not align with the American public's priorities.

I find it unfortunate that the Democrats aren't providing real competition to the incumbent party, because this puts the Republican administration in a place that allows them more power than any one group of people should hold.

I can only hope that the Democrats can get back in touch with reality. Both the reality of the modern world, and that of their voter base. The poor and the working class are not concerned about global warming. They want a secure place to raise their family and prosper. This is the core of the Republican platform, and is the primary reason that Republicans will win the 08 election.

studiocritic 10-31-2006 05:33 PM

Senator Kerry had told a university audience on Monday: "You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq.''

I love it how you guys just say any figures and it becomes a fact .. why not 2.3% ... looks much better...

But the facts are :

Unemployment is 4.6%, low by any standard, and employers are forced to scramble for qualified workers.

4.6%

tony286 10-31-2006 06:09 PM

You cant go by those unemployment numbers many stopped getting unemployment and are not being tracked and there are many who have taken much lower paying jobs.

4.6%

and 4.6% with gas prices lower than I can remember in a long while and a stock market going over 12,000 for the first time ever . . .

Again, more blabing that becomes a thruth .... how about a link to backup your reasonning...

here is one pointing the other way:

Meanwhile, the Pentagon is using cash bonuses on an unprecedented scale to try to boost re-enlistments, recruiting and morale among active-duty and reservist troops. The bonuses come as the demands of three years of war in Afghanistan and Iraq have raised questions in Congress about whether the U.S. military has enough troops to fight two major wars simultaneously.

No it doesn't make it true, anymore than saying it is currently at 4.6 means it is true.

Either number is pretty damn good . . . not that I believe either is accurate.

Employment rates mean little, the median salary is down since 2000. The stock market is high because everyone is taking money out of housing and putting it into the market. Plus, it's not a huge accomplishment, it was bound to grow their eventually. I mean it took them a week to go from 10,000 to 11,000 in the 90's. And gas is gas, it's always higher in the summer. It'll go up around Thanksgiving and Christmas like it does every year.

interracialtoons 10-31-2006 06:29 PM

It doesn't matter, we're all doomed!

We pissed off the middle east so bad that they will spend the next 100 years trying to blow us all up, if North korea doesn't do it first.

LiveDose 10-31-2006 06:33 PM

Kerry is an arrogant pick. A male gold digger. He's a professional politician, why does he always end up putting his foot in his mouth.

Joe Citizen 10-31-2006 06:42 PM

Either way you take it it's true.

If you go to university, get a decent degree and learn to think for yourself you don't end up as cannon fodder in a clusterfuck of a war for an arsehole like Dubya.

The armed forces is largely for ignorant white trash who prefer others to do their thinking for them and swallow nationalistic propaganda like a pornstar swallows cock.

hmmm, when I was driving to Indiana and back this summer the gas was cheaper than I had seen in recent years.

So low I even called home to tell people here about it.

1. a big part of them are there because that's the only way for them to go to college (if they survive Iraq of course)
2. for other's it's because that's the only carrier left in many towns, since so much of the maufacturing jobs have gone overseas

Bush/Rumsfeld/... have proven that they don't care about the soldiers over and over again, why is this even coming up, in a couple of months more Americans will have died in Iraq than on 9/11

But hey Halliburton etc ... have made billions, they even got no-bid contracts to clean up New Orleans ... great job right after more than a year?

kerry is a fucking bigger moron than bush.... either one of them fools would have fucked up if given the 9/11 situation.... i mean fuck Kerry had worse grades than BUSH at yale so putting him on a higehr pedestal becuase he trys to portray himself as the brighter one... and the shit he said whether a joke or not was a fucked up comment anyway you look at it. He is like bush.... both need to shut up, sit down, and keep the tv cameras away from them!

TeaseumGirls 11-01-2006 12:19 PM

as far as democrats go, I am sure they are just as dirty as the republicans... but the ref didnt see it so it slides by for now. they are all crooks !

Dollarmansteve 11-01-2006 12:22 PM

hahahahahahaha... republicans making a big deal about an out-of-context quote? What's the big deal - isnt that the entire basis of anti-bush (ie democrat) politics?

Its funny, as an observer, when the shoe is on the other foot.

American politics is entertaining as hell.

Was funny at the press briefing today when Tony Snow said he couldnt even figure out where the missing word "us" would fit.

Here's a tip for Tony.

If you said and meant "or else you get stuck in Iraq." it means one thing.

If you said and meant "or else you get us stuck in Iraq." it means a totally other thing.

Todays lesson is over. Now go to recess, Tony..
