Actually yes there was a miswording. He release the text he was working off of yesterday. The main word he left off was "us". It's a simple mistake, just a very unfortunate one.

Like when whats-his-name on Fox news accidently said something about Jennifer Lopez blow-job.

Tom_PM 11-01-2006 12:30 PM

Or like when Cheney said it was a no-brainer about waterboarding the other day. He never said "I'm sorry if I offended anyone".He said what Kerry did, which was "thats not what I meant" lol

mike217 11-01-2006 12:38 PM

That's not really a simple mistake. That is kind of a big deal. Missing that one word completely changes the statement, thus reinforcing my point that Kerry is an idiot and should just stay off the cameras.

what is really scary is republicans *know* the thought process of the public.. and that tells me that if they actually think they can convince the public that kerry was referring to the troops as being uneducated and stupid, rather than the bush administration (which is what he meant), that tells me the public must be stupid as fuck.

I haven't read the rest of the thread so this is probably a repeat, but John Kerry wasn't telling a joke or wasn't misquoted or anything like that. It's exactly what he meant to say. If you know anything about him, you'd know he fucking hates military men (even though he kind of was one himself).

Hey, wasn't John Kerry the guy who committed treason (but was never charged for it) when he met with the North Vietnamese enemy? Yes, I believe he was. Is anything he does surprising? Nope.

It's a simple mistake with unfortunate consequences.. But I think people are smart enough to realise that, and the smear campaign against him is already backfiring in voters minds :)

S'ok though, less than a week until election time and this will be laughed about as being absurd regardless of who wins what.

Never said Bush was a brilliant president. He is definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but Kerry didn't misquote anything. He knew what he was saying. He can take his wifes money, shove it up his ass and then go over to Iraq and see all the soldiers that are fighting. As you can see from the banner the troops posted, Kerry is obviously well liked by the military.

honestly, even if the Democrats wouldn't say a word during the whole compaigne they should still win in most Western societies, because the Republicans are just that bad.

but being the US, that doesn't seem to be the case, maybe than the problem lies with the ignorance and education of the people

Unfortunately again you are wrong. How could this possibly be a smear campaign, Kerry was the idiot that fucked up. You obviously have not lived in the US long enough to realize that half the population of this country are ignorant people who believe whatever media tells them. Media that is in all shapes and forms completely controlled by liberal democrats.

Have you ever noticed that when a really stupid democrat is on the ballot, the republicans come out in masses. I wonder why that is. Possibly because they are the only intelligent people in this country who actually have a sense of what would happen if the Dem got elected.

I love when people make this correlation. Take a look at the Clinton administration. He basically did nothing his whole presidency. He skated into office on the coat tails of Bush and an upswing in the market and the end of the first gulf war. Yet, people still praise him for being a great president.

Guess you can't remember 1999 (when Clinton was President) gas prices were 99 cents a gallon.

Guess you also don't remember the repukes blaming Clinton when gas was at $1.60 a gallon:
"Instead of taking action to bring down gas prices dramatically before the Fourth of July holiday, (Vice President Al) Gore, Browner and President Clinton are pointing fingers to blame everyone, but not themselves, for busting the summer vacation budgets of millions of Americans," charged Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wisconsin.

Yes, the economy is going wonderful; foreclosures and bankruptcies are at an all time high, the average wage is lower than its been in 15 years, and personal debt is also at record levels. Not to mention a record deficit.

As far as the stock market, the Dow was at 11,500 when Bush took office, it rose a whopping 500 points in 6 1/2 years. Wow, you call that good? :1orglaugh

I remember when gas was $.22/gallon and cheaper. I remember when gas wars meant something totally different than it means today.

Did you actually think before you posted this. Foreclosures and bankruptcies being at an all time high have absolutely nothing to do with the president. Is he telling you to fuck yourself and end up in a mound of debt and have a home you couldn't afford in the first place foreclosed on, I think not.

Wonder why gas prices were so low during the Clinton administration. Could it be that Bush Sr. fucking smacked the shit out of the middle east before Clinton ever got into office?

and I really would like people to realize that the line "media is controlled by liberals" is just that "a line", they are center.

I have been amazed in how much the US media have followed Bush the first 4 years and only know are starting to do their job. If I see what they attack Democrats on and what they let slip for the Republicans, it's amazing.

Why are you talking about how much Kerry likes the troops at a time when Bush has taken away the most fundamental principal and basically has made it okay to torture US soldiers, since you can't ask others to do more than you are willing to do

Democrats have 33% more veterans running now (60-40), they have generals, an admiral and NATO supreme commander running for them

+ haven't you noticed how the Pentagon and the intelligence agencies are leaking like never before
add to that all the retiring generals who come out against Bush policy

I think the military and the intelligence community have spoken: they want this bunch gone, they might have liked them 4 years ago, not anymore

I could accept Kerry's answer that he is referring to Bush, except that he nowhere mentions Bush or the administration. His argument also doesn't hold because I believe that Bush had a higher GPA than Kerry, so wouldn't that mean Kerry should be stuck in Iraq?

However, for the record, I don't care what John Kerry says about the military. I think his statement was uncool, and he's an ass. But I also think it's not really news. There are more important issues than this to be discussing. But the machine keeps turning, nothing ever happens that's worthwhile when it comes to politics anymore.

Yep, you're right sheepster. Foreclosures and bankruptcies have nothing to do with economic policies, its all a big fucking fluke. Has nothing to do with health insurance skyrocketing, fuel prices, wages, outsourcing jobs, the new bankruptcy law, etc. What dumbfucks like you will spout off in order to save your perceived $300 a year in taxes

Funny how you question my ignorance. I watch the BBC, but really have no use for any type of news outlet. I find they all tend to skew whatever they are reporting in the direction they want, I prefer to form my own opinions. I have absolutely no problem with the rest of the world. Just western Europe. Actually I have lived in some of the highest per capita income cities in the world. Grew up in Naples, FL, lived in Jupiter Island, FL and Boca Raton, FL for a while, then moved to Palm Beach and finally ended up in Orlando and will be going back to Boca soon.

If either of you could read, I live in Florida, not backwoods fucking Kentucky. I fucking hate Nascar and if you consider Florida the South, you have never been to the real South. Take a trip to Alabama, Georgia or one of the deep south states and then get back to me.

U.S Military Deaths in Iraq: 2,816

U.S. Military Wounded in Iraq: 21,077

Most of the casualties have occured since Saddam Hussein was overthrown and the Bush Administration declared "mission accomplished".

While Republicans and Democrats debate a misspoken sentence, more troops are dying and being wounded, and the situation in Iraq is getting worse.

Our so-called leaders from both parties should all be apologizing for that, and then do everything in their power to stop this madness.

What question? Military service, I served my country proudly in the Marines. Don't question my dedication to a country that you don't live in.

I'm not the one calling me a hick from that loves nascar and thinks america is the only developed country. Get a fucking clue.
