Adios Republicans
The Democrats really have their shit together this election.
Never heard so many great positive and uplifting speeches. :thumbsup From An Ex Republican :1orglaugh |

What GFY character does that mouth thing remind you of? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |

america will decide. |

sadly they dont... the whole thing is a mess... One democrat talk about being sick and tired of negative attacks while another will not hesitate to attack Bush on his record.. Edwards kinda shot himslef in the foot with his comment.. Democrats have much more to gain by attacking the republicans than vice-versa... And then you have that bonehead Lieberman (who is pretty much in the middle of the political spectrum.. could easily be a repuclican) go on on CNN telling how the US was right to go to Iraq and how Saddam was a big threat.. He even go on to say that many democrats thinks like him... And then you have Kerry and Edwards who voted to go to war and still have very vague position on the issue... |

Clinton's speech was really solid. :thumbsup

Agreed, KRL :thumbsup
Extremely uplifting, hopeful message, tons of enthusiasm and excitement. Going to be an election alot like when reagan beat carter; polls are useless this time around. |

oh man, I'm glad I'm not alone... I know a few personally that are now ex-republicans...but you're the first one I've seen admit it openly online... |

WTF is that? That smacks of communism and made me shiver. He's talking about making those who make $$$ pay for those that don't. I feel sorry for the "underpriviledged", but alot of us have worked hard to get places. My resume is a mile deep with trials and tribulations. Now I have to pay for someone else? Please come back to the party, and realize that all are not equal, there is such a thing as "natural selection" and that Edwards words on "terror" were scripted to gain votes. :2 cents: |
Unlikely. There may be some sense of unity now, but most pundits think the Dem convention has been fairly weak so far. It looks like Dance Party USA most of the time and has received historical low ratings. The Pubs get to come in a full month closer to election time.

good pic... but yea the speeches have been great.. I hope Kerry can do a good one. |
Not so fast. The polls are yet to show a bounce to the Dems favor. In fact Bush is closing in on a win already. So unless something happens........
Don't need any Bush hate talk. I didn't say I wanted Bush to win! Nice speech, but it was just talk. Well at least Edwards can give a speach. So let's see today we have Edwards having lunch with the mob and Bush taking anti-depressant drugs. What a wonderful country. |

The deficit is out of control. Its a disaster anyway you look at. I can no longer support or trust these guys with the power of running our country. Not saying Kerry is perfect. Far from it. But of the two I'd rather pay higher taxes and have a whole change of direction than the way we are going now which is down the toilet. |

I dont really care about Bush or Kerry.
Im just voting for Kerry to get "you-know-who" out of there and leave porn alone. And I hate that "now watch this drive" line. that arrogance pissed me off. |

And as for the polls, they're not releasing or doing any polls until the convention is OVER! |

That whole natural selection line pretty well sums up your ignorance. |

Instead Bush and his cronies alienated everyone and we had to do it all our selves. 900 of our precious young Americans got killed and thousands more injured and maimed when they didn't have to if we had a more balanced international force going in. |

Our "poverty" livers look like fucking Bill Gates compared to some of these people. This isn't about "knights and serfs". We live in a democracy, not a monarchy. If you want to save everyone, and put everyone on equal footing go ahead. Welcome to Stalin ..... That worked well didn't it! :2 cents: |
Crazy.. If people "dont watch", then why will it matter what the republicans do in NY?
Also, the polls are of likely voters. if you think this year that the same people who voted last year are all who're going to vote this year, I dont think you see how disenfranchised people are.. Also, 3 days before regan trounced carter, the polls showed them within 3 points of each other. Useless. Last election the EXIT polls were wrong. Useless. |
the dems got a bounce in the polls with the selection of edwards and will get another one after the convention. Bush will then have his convention and get a bounce in the polls. The election will be won or lost with the debates. Gore totally fucked himself during the debates and never recovered from it in key states. If Kerry can handle bush in the debates he will have a good chance.
Edwards will destroy cheney in the vice debate because he has made his living convincing people he is correct. But I still think the republicans will dump cheney and get gulliani before the election and that could give them a big boost. |

KRL, 3200 of OUR precious moms, dads, and friends were killed in one swoop in an attack on 9-11 that not only killed Americans, totalled some of the most beautifiul buildings on the planet, and left thousands of children with one or NO parents. Okay, so we go at it alone (which isnt true... it's a multinational force) So what? I revere our fallen soldiers with the utmost respect. I am a vet (D Storm 1) and I full well knew I could get killed. I have a friend who deploys to Iraq tomorrow... we said goodbye to him on Sunday when he flew to Pendleton. He knows....... he may not come back. BUT.... he knows if for some reason he doesnt... it was for OUR freedom. Our military are not "conscripts" they fight because they believe in the American idea of freedom. And Saddam Hussein, kept that freedom from his people, and THREATENED the US by providing an environment that was "pro-terror". Just ask the 15,000 dead kurds who were killed by their own leader. I'll shut up now. :2 cents: |

This is the one place in the world where your destiny is dependent on what you do and not on who your father is. What Edwards said EXACTLY was "No one who WORKS FULL TIME should live in poverty", not that noone should live in poverty. His remark was in reference to raising the minimum wage, which is sorely needed. The buying power of the minimum wage has declined 25% over the last 20 years......in 1968 the minimum wage was worth $6.92 in 1998 dollars....today in 2004 the minimum wage is $5.15. The other part of his argument was that any kid should be able to attend college regardless of how much money his parents have. That's necessary for 2 reasons, one because its morally right and two, because educating our workforce is necessary in order for us to compete in the global economy of the future. Doing this helps EVERYONE, including the rich people. |

No one in this country should be denied heathcare because they can't afford it. We don't live in Nigeria or the Dominican Republic we live in America. I'm also glad it seems this new Admin want's to stop giving tax breaks to companies that outsource their work and instead give the cuts to compaines that stay in America. |

You may have gotten away with stringing that together with insinuation before, but the American people are FINALLY waking up and realizing there IS NO TIE to 9/11 & Iraq! |
Quote:
ALOT of young people, college students especially are afraid that there will be a draft in the future if the Iraq mess doesn't get cleaned up, so we will most probably see a surge in 18-25 year olds voting this election. |
Quote:
I'm not sure where you are at, but here the "minimum wage" is significantly greater than $5.15p/h Here's a hint.... GET A DIFFERENT FUCKING JOB. Under your program EVERYONE would go to Yale to get an education. Guess what? I don't have a degree and have never needed one! I've got a 400k crib in CO that proves it. And I thank God that the US Military, showed me how to work hard. Every kid has the RIGHT to go to college, by performing, and getting scholarships, and by being SMART. Your idea totally smacks of communism, where all are SCHOOLED because it's morally right (under the government)..... There are 13 jazillion ways to go to college. The right to attend is NOT the right to pay... I've got enough on my "Enfamil" tab with one. If he goes, fine... if not, he'll still be okay, because he'll know how to be a performer. :2 cents: |

Yeah, now the republicans seem like they're going back to 1988 or so to justify going into Iraq.. Lame. Sorry, but extremely lame. Whats next, going back to when Sadam took power and had potential rivals executed on the spot? It happened too. But Iraq STILL had ZERO to do with 9/11.
Clearly some people wont vote anything but party line even if they're leaders are doomed to fail. *shrug* Enjoy :) |
